3400RL

I'm buying a 2010 3400RL from the dealer and I was wondering how much is too much to pay for one. I am also wondering what is the best dealer to go to. I would like to talk to someone over the phone if possible.

Every time (except the first time when we didn't know this) we've bought a new fifthwheel we've said to the dealer we want 20% off that msrp we're looking at. He said ok. No argument at all. So I figure that's too low a percentage but I wouldn't go any more than 80% of msrp and in this economy I bet you can get it to 25 or 30 percent off without much trouble. Some folks have reported as much as 35 percent off. Good luck.

This late in the model year $45,000 would be my offer if it is fully loaded.

The 2011 models will be out by early July if not slightly sooner.

You should be able to make a great deal on a 2010 right now. I bought in June last year. I found some 2009s at other dealers and told the dealer with the 2010 I was going to go with a 2009 to get a better price. He said I'll sell you the 2010 for the same price as the other guy's 2009 price. I was shocked, but the 2010 came home with us! Always keep control of the negotiation by making the dealer think you're going to buy elsewhere until the very end and you get everything you want agreed to.

Hope this helps.

The new models started in production at the beginning of May of 2007 for the 2008 models when we bought ours. We thought we where getting an 07 and were pleasantly surprised when it was 08.

We got 28% off on our first Montana and 32% off the last one. Both were purchased at the beginning of the model year.

First one needs to know what the actual MSRP is.. then 30% or more off that is reasonable . A 2010 shoud be even more. If you can tell us what the Dealer has on the unit as MSRP and what his selling price is we can help you better. OOPPS you are in CA.... that means a higher price... Give us some numbers. Don't buy it today... Might even tell the dealer you are consulting with a Montana owners group that has purchased thousands of these things all over the country and pretty much know a fair price..

Rich is right again! Since you are in CA you might want to look in Nevada or Oregon. Also ask the dealer for a list of satisfied customers. Wish we had done that, then we would have known the dealer was no good (no longer in business - duh).
Happy trails..........................

Make a call to Goshen. Someone will come along with the name of the dealer. There is no playing. He will give you a price over the phone when we where looking and it was $4000-$5000 cheaper than what our dealer here was trying to deal. He was really easy to deal with, no games. A lot of people have bought there for that reason.

If you don't mind travelling to northern Oregon (Portland) then the dealer here is Curtis Trailers. They are now the Montana dealer for the area. Curtis has been here since 1948. We bought our first Keystone product from them. Unfortunately, they did not handle the Montana line at the time we bought our 3400, so we had to buy down the road from a dealer who is now out of business. FORTUNATELY, Curtis won the Montana dealership rights, so we now take ours in to them for all work. They are a very good dealership. If you call them, ask for Dean Williams and tell him Terry and Patsy sent you. He was very fair with us. They had a really nice 2010 show model Big Sky 340 that we drooled over, but just couldn't justify the extra money when our 3400 is working just fine, and we've "personalized it" as well. I would say that 30 percent off of MSRP is a good number.

don 57 I called 6 dealers acrossed the country for prices on a 08 3400rl the best price was 39,500 from Walnut Ridge RV,New Castle,In. 1-800-607-8827. They were $6200 less than my dealer in Albuquerque. If you have a trade they get you there. However I was very happy w/them. I did the deal on the phone including trade. Warning ! If you go that route they give you two free nights at there RV park you will need filters for the water very, very rusty.

You are correct on that. Several people I have told about them have bought from them. My salesman was Shane Garringer, great guy to work with. I chose to pick it up when it was finished, it was sixes to pick it up or have it delivered.

Depending on what area of the country the unit is delivered to, shipping cost can vary quite a bit. If it is delivered in Indiana area, shipping is very little. In California or western states, it could be around $3000.00 or more. Some dealers inflate the cost and make a profit on the shipping.

On a recommendation from MOC Member up2nogood, we bought ours from Shane at Walnut Ridge RV as well. We went and picked it up from them in Indiana, instead of having it delivered to Oregon. Saved a fist full of cash (around $5000 without figuring in the fuel), and we made a great cross-country vacation out of it. Saw a bunch of cousins that I hadn't seen in 40 years

Shane was a pleasure to deal with, and everything came off without a hitch.

Bought ours from Walnut Ridge too. They have really great prices. We ended up with 30+% off MSRP. Our salesman was one of the owners, Gart Hart.

Bought my first Montana by low balling (based on prices found at other dealers) and then settling for $1000 over invoice. Second one (our 2008 3400RL) we surfed the web and found that Lakeshore RV in Michigan had by far the best price. Called many dealers to see if they would match price, but no (many knew of Lakeshore RV). So all set to drive back there and get it until personal tragedy hit and couldn't get back there. Called a local dealer and got for same price plus shipping.

I will be envious as the only thing we did not get that we wanted was a double refrigerator. The 2010 has the double refrigerator.
