We finally made it to Georgia.

We finally arrived in GA. Got to Kings Bay Sub Base around 4pm. We may be in a holding pattern here for a day or two as the site we were going to in Savannah is full and we should have a slot by the weekend. The Big Sky towed great and we got right at 12 mpg with the duramax. We got out of northern WI. just in time. It snowed ten inches on the 12th of Oct. I hope we dragged a whole bunch of rain down with us though. They really need a few weeks of heavy rain down here. Let the winter begin!!! Dave and Betsy

Does Kings Bay have rv camping or St. Mary's area? As a Naval retiree I was curious. Was once assigned to Subron16 there in my younger day. Dennis

mail2us, The RV park at Kings Bay is only 4 years old, we spent a couple weeks here last winter and will again in Jan of next year. They are still expanding but I would say they have at least 50 sites and I believe that they are all 50 amp and it is one of the best RV parks in the system. They have beautiful rec center, free laundry and easy access to fishing... Dave and Betsy

Thanks Dave and will look into that one. It's a nice area. There used to be an old hotel downtown St Mary's that had great seafood but not sure if still there. The area has grown alot. Dennis

Good Morning Dave,

I'm across the river from Kingsbay in Fernandina. We store our TT over there and will be storing our new Monty there too. (pick up the TT today to get it ready to drop off at the dealer as a trade-in) Pretty friendly folks at the RV park on the base.

Give me a review on the park in Savannah. I would love to find a place up there to spend each St. Paddy's day.

Congrats and I hope all goes well for you. In my Navy days I was not a submariner (we called them bubbleheads as you likely know) but my last ship was a submarine tender, the USS Sperry, AS-12. We were homeported on the other coast, though.
