Bike Rack

Our new unit came with a bike rack on the back. While we won't be using it for bikes we would like to put our gennie on the back (Honda 2000). Seems like I read somewhere on this forum that this would not be a good idea because the rack wouldn't hold the weight. According to the info that came with the unit, it should hold up to 250 lbs. This is plenty for the gennie correct?

The. Weight would not be a problem as the honda is about 45 lbs. I would be more worried about theft as the Hondas are very easy to steal and sell for lots of $.

We traveled for 10 years with one in our last SOB. We kept it locked to the frame and never had a problem. It is well traveled. Went from Alaska, to the Pacific Northwest to Key West to the Northeast and all points in between in those 10 years. Looking forward to more travel in the new rig. Thanks for letting me know that the weight wouldn't be a problem.

Before you take a long trip try it out and have someone drive behind you and film it. While most of those things are rated at 250# you may not like the way it rides and takes bumps.
