Inside step rug/runner
We have a 2011 Mountaineer 324 RLQ that has the irregular shaped steps that go up to the bedroom/bath and trying to fiqure out what or how to make or get a runner or some type of rug to put down to protect the carpet. Our old unit just had the straight type steps and could just use a runner but with the shape of these new inside steps that just will not work, any ideas??

Sounds unappealing, but we left the clear thin sticky plastic on ours that was put of at the dealer to protect the carpet from foot traffic. Keeps dirt off the rug and easy to clean.

Might have to go that route if I can't come up with something else but would like to find or make some kind of a rug or runner.

Any carpet store should be able to custom make a curved stair runner. Have no idea regarding costs, but an internet search for "curved stair carpet runners" should give you a start.

Same stuff I use,
Home depot sell the stuff in small rolls about 24" wide, but they sell it for more than its worth, so if you go to a floor supply place they sell it in rolls for a lot less per foot than home depot. We have been using it for years in our monty in the high use areas and our rug is as clean as when we bought the Monty in 2004 its great at the Q-site or dusty areas, (Boondocking) and in the rain if it gets wet you just mop it up or dry it with a rag, also when you remove the old plastic it picks up any lint or loose threds, As for how long will it stay on how about for months if needed, and when you take it off it is best to pull it back over itself it can pull it from the tackless carpet strip if you pull it off from a standing position.
great stuff..................

I found a lady at a flea market this winter that made rugs and she actaully made me rugs to go on each step, I made a paper pattern and she made to fit, crochet or knitted (can't remember which). I know of one member that went to a carpet store and they had oval samples that fit.
