Everyone ok?
This is certainly the worst storm we've seen in Qsite and also the worst storm we've been through in the rig. How's everyone doing in the circle? I'm afraid if we walk outside the rig we'll be blown away so thought we'd post and see how you'all are doing?

It must be pretty bad if the attendees need to post topics in the forum to communicate amongst each other while attending the rally. With the circle as large as it is, it would be quite an adventure to visit each other. We don't have i-net access on the road and we'd be real lost.
Maybe you can play musical rigs and just visit the neighbor next to you. I'd be interested in seeing what David and Jo-Anna's bead work looks like after all the drinking. Woo Hoo! Send pictures!

Are we in the eye of the storm? Sky is clearing toward the west, but see clouds beyond the clearing. Everyone is coming out of their rigs, all is good in Qsite.
Someone mentioned we were boondocking - which means we're "dry camping" - what is wrong with description?

Ray and Pam,
Dave and I are doing ok. We brought the slides in for a bit because the wind was so bad. All is well now.

Pam,
I have to agree with you on this being the worst storm we've been in. And also by far the worst ever in the rig! I've been checking the weather sites and while they keep talking about a huge thunderstorm headed our direction I cannot find it. It looks like a lot of clouds but no moisture is showing.
I'm happy to hear that apparently all we've suffered in the circle is a broken LNB on Dick Whitfield's satellite dish. Some items got blown a ways into the desert but all recovered.
We're settled in for the evening. Just gassed up the generator and put a few more 'nails' in the mat.
Everyone stay safe and dry!
Dennis and Mary Kay

Sorry about the bad news, but another storm just passed through and should be at Q soon if not already there. And then there's another one that is crossing the San Fernando Valley as I type (about 100 miles West). It'll probably be by my house tonight and at your place by tomorrow morning.
Enjoy the break, but more rain is coming.

We are in Parker and this was the biggest storm we have seen in the four years we have been here. The power was out in LaPaz park for a couple of hours and everything is sitting in water or mud. It still beats being home in North Idaho.

Don,
Good to hear from you. Hope all is going well for you. As you see by the posts in this thread we are in the middle of a major weather event. Lots of rain and lots of wind. I think we are finally on the tail end of things for a few days. At least we're hoping. Even as I post this message we are getting winds in the 25mph range. Much less than the 60 plus we had a few hours ago!
It should start drying out soon and we see no problem moving the rigs onto the pavement. And the nice thing about the storm was the temp never dropped below about 60* so we did not have to deal with the really cold stuff.
Stay safe and see you on down the road.
Dennis

We weathered the storm with out any problems. When the worst came through you could not see the rigs across the circle and that is only 420'. I am sure glad I put everything away the night before. We will be pulling out this AM and heading for Las Vegas. We had a great time and will see you all here next year again.

That was some storm! Yep, I will admit that at one point I was scared! I have no idea how strong those gust were, but they were pretty powerful. At one point I was watching tornado warnings on the weather maps! We are all fine except for some lost shoes that we forgot to put away. We might need to make a lost and found pile out by the fire circle.

We road out the wind and rain o.k. At one point we heard a load thud and bang and the long slide in the living room jumped up and down. We went outside to see there was any damage, only found a 1" tear along the edge of the slide topper were it attachs to the fifthwheel. Other than that the storm rocked us to sleep.

Our drive back from Parker last night was uneventful except for the washes gave us some thrills. Glad we were in the big heavy Dodge.
With all of you talking about the winds last night, we can say we got our moneys worth out of the JT's; didn't feel any wind.
Glad to hear everyone is safe with very little property damage!
