Dirty stuff

So I’m moving from my TT with Sani-Con to my Monty.
While so excited I don’t own a sewer hose because of this nor supports.

What are everyone’s suggestions:

- type
- length (sections, total)
- connections

See a lot of the “white” elbows that are translucent but not see through and others that are clear L

Also see hose supports that are like accordion and others that look like gutters.

What should I be buying.

I like the camlock on Lippert but can’t bring myself to cut the pipe. How does everyone avoid “leak” issues with the bayonet locks?

Thanks

Clear elbow for sure.........never had a problem with the bayonet locks whether it is Rhino or blueline. Made my own sewer hose supports out of 1/2" pvc pipe and use a plastic gutter inside the supports to hold the hose.

Use the Rhino hose that folds small to travel and when I use a support, which is almost never, I use an accordian type.

Rhino hose, 6” clear extension, and accordion support here. Never had a problem with leaks at the bayonet fittings.

Rhino Flex or Rhino Extreme? Are both crush resistant and heavy enough they stay put?

Have had the Flex for years. Don’t think they had the extreme when I bought. Does stay put. Nice thing is it stays compressed when you compress it. And if you only need 6’ you just pull it out to a 6’ length instead of having to work with the full 15’.

Don’t know about crush. Have never stepped on it or dropped anything heavy on it.

In addition to the above, I use a gate valve on the termination outlet which is very nice should a valve lose some of it's seal while travelling.

Rhino products are great quality and durable. I carry three 10 foot sections, need three at our snowbird site in Florida and often need two.

Rhinos come with the white “L” right? Do you replace these with clear?

Just bought a 15' Rhino Flex at Walmart to replace one that we had used for 8 years of full timing and the lugs were breaking off. It came with a clear end, but I also have a knife valve on the end of my sewer outlet and a clear 90 on that.

Yeah some come with clear. Most still come with translucent though.

Not sure it’s worth it but this 20ft kit (2 x 10ft) seems like a beast:

Camco RhinoEXTREME 20ft RV Sewer Hose Kit, Includes Swivel Fitting and Translucent Elbow with 4-In-1 Dump Station Fitting, Crush Resistant, Storage Caps Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HRIHYOS..._1lAQBbPE3DV90

Is 20 ft enough?

20 ft is normally good BUT some campgrounds, like in Goshen where the Fall Rally is currently taking place, that will not be enough. Carry a 10-15 ft extension and you will normally have enough. I've got two Rhino Flex in my storage compartment along with a clear 45* clear fitting with the added back flush connection and I also have a 5 ft extension just incase I run into some place that my two 15's aren't enough. I also have a permanent knife valve on the end of my sewer drain pipe to keep any possible problems from the other knife valves on the tanks from surprising me when I go to hook the Rhino up.

I also use vinyl rain gutter to lay my hose in most of the time. Support it with blocks of wood or the accordion supports. Helps protect the hose from the weed eater guys.

Rhino hose with a clear elbow. You will also want a 6 foot extension for the park that needs it. Any of the hose supports will work - pick the one you like and fits in your rig best.

I`m personally a diehard Rhino hose user. With that said,I have found that to make 1 hose an extension, you need to remove the "L" and replace with another female twist lock end. Also you need a coupler to hook the 2 hoses together.

I also discovered you need to remove at least 1 cap from either end BEFORE extending, or you can cause it too collapse in onto itself. If you connect bayonet end to drain, remove cap on other end before extending the hose. I learned this the hard way, lol.

You can buy 10’ Rhino extensions with the proper fittings already attached.
