Bonding With the New Mountaineer.
Now that the Holiday season is over, Gail and I are beginning to think more about the trip to Navarre, FL in late March. She wants to start decorating and lay down area rugs. So went up to Tiara RV Sales yesterday to get a bunch of pictures and measurements. Besides, I wanted to find out if I could hook up to the TrailAir Tri-glide without taking off the trifold bed cover. I installed a battery and pumped about 35 psi into the air bag. No go! The shock absorber hits the bed cover about 1" shy of locking in! Pashaw!! Well, at least I became somewhat acquainted with the new hydraulic system for the front legs and level up.
Went inside and got the 2 main floor rooms extended with no problem. Took a bunch of pictures and measurements. Noticed that a couple of issues I had listed have already been corrected. They must have done these when they installed the 3 slide room awnings, tri-glide and steps. Still have several things to address but have 8 weeks to get that all done. Was in the process of retracting the 2 slide rooms and, sure enough, the perverbial weak circuit breaker issue! I think I know how to fix that deal!!
I am anticipating that we are looking good and will be on schedule!!

Oh, the excitement of course, and bonding with a new 5er is always a great experience as well. Lot's to learn and the DWs always get excited adding their personal style to the new living space. Good times.
Keep on enjoying!!!

Larry, just put that much in to keep from doing any possible damage to the bag. I will most certainly be putting in much more than that later when we get her loaded and hooked up.

Just curious on the cost of the slide toppers? I am considering having those added.

Jeff, Part of the whole deal when we traded was having the toppers installed. But, I want to say the cost was somewhere around $900.00 for all 3 of them. All together, between the toppers, steps and pin box, there was 2200 bucks worth of add-ons. Would have to look at the invoice again.

Steve, we will do that! We are going to be staying at Santa Rosa Sound RV Resort just on the east side of town, as I recall.

Went back up Tiara RV again today. Wanted to talk to the service people to absolutely make sure we was all on the same page about when we needed to have her already to go in 7 weeks. Once we started talking about the issues we needed corrected, they suggested that since I was there and had asked if I had the time, they would pull it inside and they wanted me to show them what I wanted done. My question back was, "yes, I have time but, do you?" Before I knew what was happen, they were on a fork lift making room to bring ours in. They hooked up power and opened the slides and I walked inside. Then, I noticed there was a PDI sheet laying next to the sink. Strange, since that wasn't there a week or so ago when I was there. Come to find out, they have been working to make sure all systems functioned. I was very pleasantly surprised!
Anyway, went over the short list and as we went thru it, they was green taping everything. They even asked if we wanted the unit before March 16th. I assured them that is still a good date. Now, I'm thinkin' heck, this thing could be ready for a maiden voyage at nearly a moments notice.
Hmmmm!
