Arkansas Flooding

Oh my! I just heard about the flash flooding in several remote Arkansas valleys ... twelve dead and dozens of people missing! I sure hope they are found alive. I also hope that campers were not caught up in this.

Flash floods are very frightening!

Unfortunately there were many campers caught in the flooding.
flooding story Not clear if it was RV'ers or only tent campers.

Unfortunately this happened when people were sleeping and I believe they were mostly in tents, making them even more vulnerable. I guess we'll listen to the evening news tonight to find out more. Not too many details yet.

It was in southern Arkansas. There are now 20 dead and 40 missing. Yes, campers were caught in it all. How sad for everyone concerned.

Apparently, there could have been up to 300 campers in that area. Lack of registration records create uncertainty on numbers that were in these campgrounds.

There were RVs there as well as tents. They said over 40 are still missing. 16 confirmed dead.

Yes Dave, the news here in Florida stated that the registration records got washed away during the flood, so the numbers are unknown.

The full scope of the tragedy is still unfolding. It is horrific to see the rvs including fifth wheels that were just tossed around and smashed. I can't imagine what it must have been like. The people, tenters and rvers just had no chance. Thoughts and prayers to all involved.
