Brake Controller Which Way To Go?
I have a Dodge 2004 and need to replace my brake controller. I remember looking at one a while back that was in line. Does anyone have one directly in line and how do you like it and who is it made by? Is in line the way to go? I am trying to get away from adjusting and a smooth transition when the break releases. Your input is greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about the style that taps into your hyd. brake system, I don't think they are recommended for any vehicle that has anti-lock brakes,it makes the trailer brakes chatter. A good electric system should not make you feel the brakes grab unless it is set to sensitive.

That's all right Joe. The earlier hydraulic trailer brake controllers WEREN'T compatible with antilock brakes.

Max Brake that is what I have been looking for but could not remember the name. I knew it was in the $300.00 range. Pricey but to me worth the price. Looking on net for the best price.
Thanks Bill

Can the Dodge factory brake controllers be added after the truck leaves the factory? Pretty sure Ford's version cannot....
