By the time it was accessorized, one would have well over $10,000 invested. Interesting idea. Not inclined to add 6 to 8 more feet to an already 56' long TV & RV length.

Haven't seen one. Is this a trailer you pull behind a 5'ver?

X2 on the oversized already. We're 57' as we currently stand, long enough for me.

If your frame is still under warranty, you might want to check with keystone, as well as state laws where you intend to tow.

That would be great if it did as it says and it weren't so dang expensive at $6400 before any welding. Oh well I'm gonna hit that lottery some day...

Ok, there is a guy here that told me about them. It does not count as a trailer because it attaches directly to your frame. It is away around double pulling. I also would think it would be too long.

I have a passion for toys like ATVs and Harleys. We did not want to give up the comforts and space of our choice of a RV for a real toyhauler. We bought a 2012 3455SA Big Sky with all options and I want to haul my toys on occasion. Please understand I am not concerned about the frame warranty or length. I will be legal in all western states that I camp in. I am lookiing for any one who owns or owns something similar and the pros and cons associated. We are not retired but are near the 60 age and very active with our fun machines.

On one of our first outings to Quartzsite I met a fellow who was in a Montana. The the back of his rig he said he had built an "Idaho Tote" type rig and connected it to the rear of his rig. He ended up having to beef up the rear part of the frame. He was a welder and knew what he was doing.

He said after he got it built and connected up he then loaded his ATVs onto the contraction. It was so heavy it was flattening the tires on the trailer!

The Tote idea is a good basic design and apparently does allow you to carry some special items. If I were going to put one on it would be that type. But as has been pointed out by several folks the length of the overall rig can become a problem. Good luck. Dennis

There is another option known as the swivel wheel trailer that is considerably less expensive. I have seen them on 37' fivers and they travel from MI to FL every year without incident. The way they are built keeps them out of the double haul category, but the length is still over 60', which to my understanding is not within the law between them 2 states. They say they have never been bothered in alll the yrs towing this way, but this doesn't make it right as we all well know.

Here is the link and of all things they show it mated up to a Montana with a Gold Wing on board. http://www.cruiserlift.com/swivelwheel.html
They have both a single wheel wt limit 1000 lbs for $2150.
And a dual wheel model wt limit 1200 lbs for $2750.
They are 5 ft long.

huntnjim: You and I seem to look at things quite similarly as far as what we want to take on our outings. I can't comment directly on the Idaho Tote, but I can say I've seen a hand full in use around the Kansas / Oklahoma / Missouri area as well as the swivel wheel setup posted previously. I've always had a sturdy hitch on the back of 3 different Montana's with little to no worries. You're rig is a bit longer than mine, but my total hookup is a tad over 65'. I've not been pulled over in over 10 years here west of the Mississippi. My biggest issue is fueling up at certain convenience stores, but you just have to be a bit more picky. I'd imagine you already have this mindset, but just be constantly aware of what's behind the truck and drive accordingly.

I am now using a Cruiser lift swivel wheel with a 700lb cruiser bike I haul. I'm in Florida right now and have not had a second look by the LEO's. You do have to remember that there is added length to the trailer, with my set up I'm at 56 ft in length. I haven't taken the TV and trailer to the scales wet, but I do notice less pin weight.
