LED lighting -- a find

I have lots of 12v bulbs in my rig. There are 13-mini-wedge, 11-20 amp recessed Halogens, 5-recessed 10 amp halogens, and 4-BS15d. That's 33 inside the coach. I have been trying to replace these with LED lights. Not cheap! I like the "warm" yellowish light of an incandescent bulb over the "Cool" blueish light of the typical fluorescent bulb. It is just more comfortable to Dianna and me.

I have been shopping price and quality and think I have found a source with high quality and reasonable pricing. Would you believe it, the source is right here in the MOC. Michael Taylor (snfexpress), has worked with his supplier to produce and improved product while keeping the pricing reasonable. PM or email Michael if you are looking for LEDs for your rig.

Stiles,
I was going to recommend Michael too. I have been searching the web and his prices beat all others.

Thanks for the kudos. The price reflects basic costs for the MOC membership. I was frustrated at high-priced, under-performing LED's. I started purchasing retail, then distributor, then finally found a manufacturer that could deliver consistent LED's in the warm white color range most of us are used to and prefer. I've been the tester since last November. I filed all the customs paperwork and the result is that I have a responsive source for LED's.

Michael, where in remote NY? Has to be in Northern or Southwestern. We're in the Western end (currently on the St. Clair River in Michigan, but will be home tomorrow). Now, I too would like to know more about your LEDs. Have replaced a few, but the CW price is on the high side. Put LED strip lites over the counter, just wired them into the 12 volts and didn't use the AC power supply that came with them.

Do you get more illumination with LED lights? I want to replace some of the double dome lights that do not do a very good job in the dining/kitchen area, but do the high cost LEDs really make a difference?

Hey Mike,

We're interested in LED lights too. We bought some that are almost like florescent in color and intensity... way too glaring! What styles do you sell and/or can you recommend?

I'm looking to buy also. I would like to start by replacing the double dome light over my computer desk and find an LED or 2 that direct the light down on the computer desk of my 3400RL instead of annoying Cathi while she is watching TV. After that there are a few others in the kitchen/dining room area I'm thinking of replacing. More info please !

I have pm'd all who have expressed interest. For the record, while not altruistic, we have deliberately set the price of these LED's at an affordable threshold for members of the MOC. We are covering our costs, taxes and import duties. We may have enough at the end of the month for a cocktail or two but millionaires? This all started out of my frustration at not being able to find affordable LED's in a consistent color range, warm white, and with sufficient lumens to make the LED appropriate for residential lighting; after a good six months of research we found a manufacturer who meets our specifications. Rather than inundate the manufacturer with a bunch of small orders that they wouldn't accept due to their volume requirements we decided that we could be the conduit and purchase in bulk, spreading the savings to all of us.
