jjackflash--what you are missing in the tire weight issue is the weight of the trailer that sits on the front jacks on king pin when hooked up. That`s 2000# + off the axels.

Keystone is having a little trouble getting their weights correct on Laredo 5th wheels and there is a recall:

Keystone is recalling 10 MY 2008 Laredo fifth wheel travel trailers for failing to comply with the requirements of Part 567, ‘Certification.’ The Federal identification label and tire and loading information label does not contain the correct gross axle weight rating (GAWR). The label indicates a capacity of 6,000 lbs, but instead should read 5,080 lbs. Also the tire size and maximum inflation pressure is listed at 235/80/R16E at 80 psi and it should be 225/75/R15D at 65 psi maximum inflation. Loading the vehicle beyond the actual GAWR could result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners will be provided with corrected labels and installation instructions. If an owner desires, they can have their dealer replace the tags for them. The recall is expected to begin during January 2009. Owners may contact Keystone at 1-866-425- 4369. 08V-685

Steve,
I would find a different alignment shop. My tires were wearing inside and out like yours and it was the alignment. If your tire pressure is correct and you are not overloaded, that only leaves one thing.

drjjj,

We have a late 2006 Montana 3400 purchased in May and made in April of 2006 with all 5 tires made by Mission. At about 8 to 10,000 miles I noticed unusual wear on the outside tread of the front right tire. Had it checked by local tire shops and all told me it was being caused by tread separation. Put the spare on and after another 1600 miles noticed unusual wear on the inside tread of the left front tire. Tireco replaced all 5 Missions with Freestars, free of charge, but I had to pay a local shop here in AZ to do the switch over. I'm pretty sure both were just bad Mission tires but am going to have the axles checked for alignment when we leave here in April. After reading about many other 3400RL owners experiences with the Mission tires, here on the MOC, there is a pretty(very) high probability they are going to fail sooner rather than later. But it appears that Tireco won't change them out unless you have actually detected some kind of failure on at least one of the tires. I believe the warranty on the Missions is for 4 years so you might want to work this issue soon.
