Good info John (woodtic)...wasn't sure on the engine I listed and your answer helped. I have used Diesel Kleen since I bought the truck new in '07. Thinking of Opti-Lube which has a much lower HFRR than Diesel Kleen.

Glad to be of help. There has been talk of a new round of testing in the future. I would think that in the 6 years since that report by Spicer, some of the companies have changed their formulas. Some new products have hit the market as well, such as the treatment I'm currently using. I'd gladly donate a few bucks for another round of testing.

Ran into a guy from Michigan this afternoon that had a 2012 F350 6.7 with over 50,000. He said he only puts an additive in every other tank and when he does his MPG doesn't change much. He said he gets 20-21 mpg highway.

I can believe that. A real 5% milage increase is really exceptional for a fuel addative. Of course it all starts with the quallity of fuel you put into the tank. I've seen my milage vary by 1-2 mpg depending on where I get fuel. Around home I mostly get Shell Premium diesel. On the road, I get what's available.

I have been told you have to use it in every tank for it to be effective. I have been on Diesel Kleen since the truck was new and that was recommended by Ford.

FYI, Tractor Supply is running a special on Diesel Kleen. Their 80z bottle is $5 off.

Thanks for the info. I used Diesel Kleen in my 2002 Duramax. I will continue to use it in my 2013 Duramax.

OK, so I just starting using Diesel Kleen in my 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3. I am now on the second tank of fuel.

My fuel economy has gone from 17.8 mpg to 19.4 mpg. This will give me an extra 40 miles per tank.

I use diesel kleen on every fill up but not for the mileage gain. I use it for the lubricity for my injectors and to keep my turbo spinning freely. My Dodge mechanic recommended its use.
