50 Amp twist lock plug

The wire cover is sliding down next to the plug. Has anyone replace the plug? If you have were can I find just the plug? I have found places were I can buy the whole cord. All I need is the plug.
Thanks

Mine did the same thing. I replaced it with a Marinco 90' plug I bought at Camping World. Wiring instructions are in the package. It's kinda pricey.

The outer cover has shrunk because it's plastic or vinyl. It happened at the twist end too...simply took that plug apart & shorten the wires.
Mine is doing the same thing also at the plud end. I will try to repair this without a new plug. Trying liquid vinyl & plastic tape to reinforce area.
I see that cord is made in China! Another quality part like their tires!

I had the same problem and simply did as Lambchop. Took it apart and shortened the wires and put it back together. Worked for me and a lot less costly than the purchase of a new 50 AMP cord or even a plug. Mine was on the camper end which had a plug that would come apart. If the problem would have been on the other end I would’ve had to use a replacement plug.

Same thing occured with my plug. I had to take it apart and shorten the wires, put the plug back on and taped it up, then put the cap on. It would be nice if this plug was at a 90 degree angle. I think the plug comes loose from the cord over time from the weight of the cord hanging down. If if was at a 90 there would be no presure on the cord as there is now. Plus when the sun hits it, I don't think thats helps. Anyone ever see a 90 degree plug?

When we had the 3295RK the ladder was on the left side and I used to take the cord and loop it through the ladder for support. That seemed to help a lot but I can’t do that now. The plug is on the opposite side of the camper from the ladder.

I thought mine was one of the only ones to do that. Told my dealer about plug coming apart when it was under 1 yr warranty and they tried fixing . Held for awhile, then due to sag and sun heat it is coming apart also. Tweetys might be a good fix, but too expensive for me.

When mine did that, I pulled it apart and found the ground screw was not tight. Be sure to verify all the wires are inserted and the screws are tight.

If you need a new 50 amp receptacle, look for a 50 to 30 amp adapter. I have one by Conntek that was only about $55, used the same 50 amp receptacle, and was a lot cheaper than buying the receptacle alone.

The covering on mine at the male end started to shrink early on, exposing the insulated wires for about an inch. I got some of that self vulcanizing stretch tape (rigging tape in sailboat talk) and wrapped it tight to fill in the gap. That tape is not cheep. So far so good, but if it separates again, I'll opt for the new end.

Have same problem with male end and did the self vulcanizing stretch tape thing (F4 tape) and then nylon electrical 3M tape.

I've had the same issue, not hard to fix just a pain working with the wires. Good luck on your fix.

If you do need the 50 amp plug, they're cheapest here:

That's a great price, and when I checked with Amazon, it was even 5 bucks less.

I had the same thing and I went to Ace Hardware and they had a tape that only sticks to it's self. I took the plug apart and started wrapping the tape around the outside cable covering to the plug and built it up to about the same size as the outer covering then put the plug together. No problems since.
