2013 Montana chairs

We were looking at a new Montana the other day and the two chairs are no longer rocker recliners. Asked the sales people about this and they said the chairs will be solid seated chairs with no swivel. I am interested in ordering a 2013 Montana 3402rl but do not like the new chair style for us. Have any of you heard about this change in furniture.

Hadn't heard about it, but we took all the furniture out of our new rig and sold it for almost nothing. We replaced it with furniture that fit us and was comfortable. If we were ordering a new one we would order it without furniture and if we bought one from a dealer the stuff from our rig would go in the new one and they could have the new stuff for our rig. As you can tell, we really didn't like the furniture Keystone put in the rig no matter how nice it looked. We hadn't figured out the furniture at that point, but we did know about the bed and had them switch the mattress from our TT to the Monty before we accepted it.

Thought we were the only ones who felt that way. We bought two nice flexsteel leather recliners and matching sofa for our 2005, and moved them to the 2010 and sold the 2005 with the 2010 furniture. For the amount of time we spend in our unit, we wanted truly comfortable quality leather furniture. The standard fabric chairs that come with the Montanas just dont fit our likes. There are several RV furniture manufactures on line, who make quality furniture that will fit any fifth wheel. Most of them also make the major rv shows. We bought our furniture, which still looks great, at a flexsteel furniture store in Clearwater Florida. Many sources out there.

We bought Flexsteel European Recliners and the dealer took the price off the 5th wheel for the chairs that where in it which wasn't much.Love the Flexsteel Recliners.

When we got the 2009 we took all the furniture we had bought for the 2006 and switched it out, Even the mattress. That includes the kit chairs and the leather recliners. Trailer furniture is cheep and that is what you get. Buy what fits you and put the rest in the dumpster. sailer

Same for our 2006 3400Rl to our 2009 340RLQ - all the new furniture was traded with our 2006 rig. We kept our Lane recliners (that are more comfortable and easier to move about the floor), our ComfortAire Bed, and our aftermarket dining room chairs...In our opinion Keystone's choice of furniture leaves a lot to be desired...

This is probably a cost cutting option if this is becoming standard, this way if you want something better, they make it an option that adds cost to the rig. In '06 when I bought my rig both recliners had problems, so they swapped the pair out. Unbeknownst to me I don't know how many problems Montana had with their vendor providing crappy chairs and maybe making these chairs simpler (and cheaper) it helps with their bottom line.

Ask the dealer if there are other chairs available than the ones that came with the rig or do what so many others have done by getting rid of the chairs that came with the rig for something better in the aftermarket.

Yup, I know, throwing more money into the rig to swap out what you don't like doesn't always sound like the best thing to do.

The Montana HC comes with Flexsteel recliners (2012) although cloth not leather. We have Flexsteel in the SB and they have lasted several years with no issues.

We took our new chairs out and put in lazy boy chairs, we save the chairs and will put them back in when we trade in a few years. Then took out the mattress and threw it away and purchase one at Michiana Mattress after the fall rally. Would like to replace the couch, but need the inflatable bed for when the grand kids come along.

We've already replaced our swivel chairs in our '11 3400 with La-z-Boy wall hugging recliners. Did NOT like the swivel rockers, as they kept hitting the wall and curtains if they weren't positioned right. We're also looking at replacing the sofa too, because the one that came with is is terribly uncomfortable. Probably get a La-z-Boy on that one too. Don't need the bed part.

Agree...we went with the same Euro chairs Sailer has and are much more confortable with them over the stock recliners.

We dumped the rockers in our 2006 3400RL and replaced them with two leather chairs from Lambright Furniture in Topeka, Indiana. Topeka is near Elkhart. We love the chairs, they are well built, comfortable and narrower than the oem ones. They are also wall huggers. Genuine Amish workmanship- the day we went to order the chairs our vehicle was the only motorized transportation in the parking lot. All the others were horse/buggy or bicycles. Lambright was very accommodating in meeting our needs for quick delivery.

I wished I had the money some of you spend on your dissatisfactions. You switch the tires, change the mattress, buy a new bed, throw away the recliners. Dump this. Trash that.

Am I the only one who is satisfied with what he has?

Furniture is a matter of choice for each of us. If you fulltime o long time in one of these things you will be very lucky to get a couple yrs out of the stock furniture. And this isn't just Montana's that have the same problem. We as buyers demand lower prices, which in turn makes the companies cut corners where they can. Furniture is one place they do these things. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to this happening. But its the competitive world that causes this to happen. Just my opinion!!!

We don't have that kind of disposable $$ to just throw out OEM furnature. When they wear out that is a different story. The OEM stuff in our 06 is still good after 6 years of long timing..
