Greetings All New situation, we are within a week of putting the Monty into a storage lane. The closes Eletric Pedestal is somewhere around 45 ft from the rear of the Trailer. That being said, is that to far for an extention. Also I would have to use a 30 amp on the end of my 50 amp shore cord. Could find another 50 amp if neccessary and them dog bone it to the pedestal. I have never had to reach out this far to hook up, I want to be able to keep the dehumidifier and a little heat this winter. We are in Washington State for at least a couple of years, my Mother health is going down hill. Thanks for the advice ahead of time.

Get a 30 amp cord to hook to your 50 amp. That'll get you the length you need and it will keep the voltage drop to a minimum. Plus, you can use it when there's only a 30 amp service available when you travel.

It may actually be overkill while you're in storage. It sounds like the biggest load will be the heater, but it should handle the occasional time you're there to check out the rig.

For a few extra bucks, I got a second 50 amp cord rather than a 30 amp cord. Only needed it once...but sure needed it then, a 30 amp ext cord would not have worked.

Before I had a 50 amp circuit installed I used a number 10 fifty foot extension cord and ran it from a 20 amp circuit in my garage. It supplied all the power I needed for storage. It would even run the AC. Unless you just really need or want another 50 amp monster to haul around I'd consider a regular extension cord as listed above. Just make sure it is a true #10.

When we are in Tennessee for a month (every year) we use 125 ft of 30 amp cord. Able to run A/C.

thanks the rest of you, I will go with the 30 amp, will only run dehumidifier and Furnance during Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March.
