Ray,
Not sure if you have a new rig and covered by warranty. The dealer gave me three of them before I could get one to work. All were covered under the one year warranty.
If you are asking about paying to get the QR2000 repaired, I agree with the rest. Toss it and get something else. There are other units out there that will give better output and will not cost an arm and leg. JB

Mine was doing the same thing. Not loading the disk. Saying "No disk". When it would load, the movie would stop playing somewhere during the movie and I would have to restart it. Yesterday we went to Best Buy and got a Phillips system for $149 and the old system went in the dumpster.
I used the old speakers until we get settled in Pierre S D and I can change them out.

I have not had any problems with my QR2000 (YET) but at the first sign of trouble I will replace it with a quality one.
Have you tried different DVD's? I am assuming that you are using rental movie DVD's and home grown CD's. There could be a problem in the type of CD/DVD if they are home grown. I don't remember if the QR2000 is compatible with DVD+(Plus)R and/or DVD-(Minus)R. If they are home grown, what did you record them on + or -?? Change to the opposite and see if that works.
On a good quality LG System I put in the wrong disk once and it now says what your's says and is in the junk box for parts in case I need it (actually thinking of getting it repaired - I really liked it)
Most of the newer quality DVD players will play and record to all the major formats.

We had the same problem when we first got our Montana. We were putting the Olevia Manual CD in the DVD player and it was a CD for the computer. I was able to view and print off parts of the manual off the computer, but not with the DVD/CD player. Duh?? Do any of your DVDs work?? I agree it is not the best player, especially the remote, but ours does work. We will probably replace it later.

Get rid of it and save yourself the frustration, I went through three of these before I chucked it.

FYI--
We were at SAMs today and they have Sony DVD player for under $100. Sony has been a consistently good name brand for us with regard to electronics. (We're in Orlando, FL.)

We have had some problems with our QR 2000 as well. Since Monty is going on 4 years old, I've been thinking about a DVD replacement. Having limited knowledge of the techy stuff, I have some questions;
1)The units at Sam's, etc include the speakers also, so do you toss the speakers?
2)In any event what are the power out limitations so that I don't blow the existing speakers? (Can't find the data anywhere in the Quest manual - The new ones range from 200 watts to 1000 watts.)
3)Any other specs that I need to be aware of for those who have purchased new sob's?
Thanks, Jim

We had ours exchanged under warranty. Our 2000 went bad and we were given a 4000. Then that went bad and we got another 4000 that has worked so far.
A word of caution. When looking to replace your Quest unit, make sure the replacement has a built in amp. Otherwise your surround system will not work. The Quest systems have this amp already built in.
I purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray player last spring and was immediately cautioned by my professional installer that I could not ditch the Quest 4000 as the Blu-Ray, as well as many other DVD players, do not have any ability to run the Montana (or any other system, actually) 5.1 surround sound by itself. He told me I could buy a separate amp for about $100-150. He recommended just keeping the 4000 for the amp - as it basically was a freebie. So far has worked well.

Mark, I could not find any at Best Buy. Neither could the Geek Squad who did my install. Apparently, most DVD/Blu-Ray units do not have their own amp. Only if you get a combo AM-FM tuner/Blu-Ray. I spent a lot of time in Best Buy and ABC Warehouse before deciding to just use the amp on the 4000. I don't listen to radio anyway and I don't use the DVD player on it either since I have the Blu-Ray.

Richard,
Go for the warranty. Then take it and put it in the closet for that day when you need one for something. It not only lets Keystone know that they have a contract problem, but it will give you a spare (that may work).

I just had mine replaced, I think the "old" one was the QV 2000. The new one is the 4000. I ran down to storage to check it since CW replaced it last week. The 15 minutes I tried it, it all seemed to work OK.
However I did not appreciate it that someone at the CW shop used the stool room and didn't even flush it.
They pulled new coax from the bedroom TV area down to the entertainment center because the original wire was shorted. Not complaining just disappointed.
