Electrical problem maybe
Hello, first time poster, so be patient with me. We have an electrical problem in our 2955. The lights over the couch and kitchen table will not turn on and the fan in the kitchen will not go on. Is there a switch that needs to be reset, if so where would it be located. Last time we used it was in Sept. '04 and since then it has been sitting, plugged to electricity, in front of my husband's shop.

First of all, Welcome lmurphy to the MOC.
Secondly, check the breaker panel located to the right of the steps to the bedroom.

Hi Imurphy & Welcome to MOC.
I have a 2955 also. You do know one of the lights over the couch and table will not come on with the wall switch, and either will the fan. The switch on the light is a push button right on the light itself, I think it's the light over the couch. Also you probally have done this already but change the bulb again, I don't know how many times I have put a new bulb in and it wouldn't work, try another one before you start takeing everything apart. Also maybe you dont have it screwed in tight enough, back it off and try to tighten again.
As far as the fan goes if you have lights on the fan and no fan, I doubt if it is electrical, pull the chain a couple times and see what happens.
I hope everything is as simple as this for you, and not something major.
Bill

Keep trying combinations of switches. It took us a month to get the right combination of switches to those lights, and I'm still not sure. It seems that almost every light in a 2955 has a wall switch AND a swith on the light itself )

Check to see if the breaker for the 100 side is tripped. You have a 12V and a 110V system in the Montana. Since everything that you have mentioned is 110V, it might be that the breaker was shut off or tripped. Just a thought.

all good answers. sometimes I find the chain was pulled on the fan so when you turn one on, the other is off. try different combinations, the bulb, the breaker in the camper, the breaker from the shop supply. 1st, look at the microwave....is the clock on. that's the first thing I look at when I plug in to see if the power is on.

Just for the heck of it, I might also check the fuses. There may be a wall switch you have forgotten say -- in the slide where the couch is. I don't really know.

Thank you guys for all your input. Turns out the lights and fan are working again. My husband can't figure what it was he did, but something worked.

Glad you got it straightened out, we also have the 2955, the light over the couch is powered by a switvh by the entertainment center, the light over the table has a push buttom switch on the side of the light, the fan switch is near the refrig. wall under out t-stat. Sounds like you have it fixed but also there is a junction box on the slide wall by the couch, that is where the power(110volt),comes into the slide section in case this happens again, our wire was stretched too tight when the slide was out and pulled out of this box, easilt fixed by re-routing the wire but then I am a licensed electrician.Just some things to keep in mind in case it happens again.
