I am very proud of my time serving this GREAT country and I am very proud and totally support our troops that are out there supporting our country today. It wasn't that many years ago that the only ones that even acknowledge Veteran's Day were the VETS. Today all of that has changed. Today we wear our T-shirts, hats, belt buckles out there for everyone to see and feel oh so very proud to do so.

Thanks Wayne, people who haven't served don't know how it feels when a total stranger thanks them for their service.

Each time I see a Veteran I think them for their service. What a feeling it gives me when I see a older Veteran proudly wearing his Cap, and I think him for his service and the reaction he shows, just makes my day. Our older Veterans are dying everyday by the thousands, so lets let them know we appreciate their service. Those that sacrificed so much for so many to live the life we are living. We are so Blessed to live in this country. GBY....

P.S. Wayne thanks again for making my day. And THANK you for your service to our Country.

Thanks Wayne.. We have our VFW and American Legion cards at the ready. We served at a time when being in uniform was respected . When attending a school at Fort Monmouth, NJ I well remember that along Times Sq there was never a cover charge for the Military and in many places the drinks were free. At Jack Dempsey's resurant on Times Square all Militray were invited in and the first couple of drinks were free..same at the Mae West Review.( does that date me or What) Great Soldiers and Sailors club not to far from Times Sq that had first rate entertainment..any one could drop in.I do not remember ever paying for a taxi when in Uniform..your money was no good.

I too am proud of my service. I think that all Americans should serve a 2 year commintment for their county. After you are in the service you look at an American Flag differntly than a lot of those who haven't served their county.

We have 3 generation military service in our family. My father was in the Canadian Air Force during World War II, Bob was in the Army (drafted 1 month after we were married) and gladly served. Our son served in the Air Force (volunteer). We have great respect for the military and thank all of you for your service.

Thanks for the info and all the thanks rendered. My first husband was Army and unfortunately was KIA in Viet Nam in 1968. Leaving me a widow with two small children at the age of 24. Fortunately in 1975 I met Tom who was just a few years shy of his retirement from the U.S. Air Force. We have now been married for 32 years, I don't think anyone but another soldier could have understood my feelings and allowed me to talk about them. Tom is a Veteran of Viet Nam, and proudly served in the USAF from 1958 (when he graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis) until retiing in 1979. As a military wife I also have a special feeling for our country, our flag, and our veterans. God Bless all those who are serving or have served and God Bless America!!

A huge THANKS to our veterans who sacrified so America can be the land of the free. We also want to thank the veterans' families who sacrified. We have a son in the 82nd Airborne and after his 3rd term away (Iraq, Iraq and Afghanistan) we understand how hard it is on the family who is left behind while our guys do what they do for us. THANKS ALL OF YOU!!!

The thing I am most proud of in my life is the over 7 years I served in the Army. It made me a better person and come away with a better understanding what it means to be free. Seeing socialism first hand gave me the insight to never want to be part of it. It saddens me that so many are willing to give up their liberties in exchange for a campaign promise there is something in it for them. I am really saddened that so many so called Americans can support a "Leader" that cannot say the "Pledge of Allegiance" Just where is their Allegiance to? What happened to AMERICANS that just wanted to be free to pursue happiness and the sense of pride to provide for themselves and their family and not look for a handout. I am proud to be an American and I have paid my dues. I know there are a lot like myself. We need to stand up and be heard. It is our day (Veterans Day).

It is great to see America treating Veterans with respect and appreciation. I started in 1971 and vividly remember the days of having my car egged and not being allowed to even wear any military uniform when driving off-post during the early 70s. Used to have to wear civilian clothes when traveling from and to home at the start / end of the duty day. Things changed in the 21 plus years I was active Army, and are even better for our Vets today. I'm glad I served and I'm proud of all those who continue to serve today. Duty First!

A very heartfelt Thank You to all the other Vets out there, and to the Non-Vets as well for recognizing us today as you do. It was, and is, an honor to serve!

Please take the time to check facts before repeating "urban legends" It is not difficult.Use the internet search engines to check and verify. The "obama will not say the pledge" is not factual.

A example....
