MOC minie rally in Whitehorse, Yukon??

So we're sitting here in Whitehorse, Yukon.....I heard a horn beep outside our door and who is parked outside? Doug and Sharon (DHenry) and Michael and Renee (Golfnuts). When they went to sign the guest book in the visitor's center, they saw our name and knew we were here.

What a small world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JoAnna, it was great seeing you again, sorry that we did not get to visit with David. We hope his cold is getting better. Keep an eye out for us up the road. It looks like we will be leaving here tomorrow and heading to Skagway for a few days.

Great seeing you all also! Thanks for stopping by. We head out this morning toward Tok. Enjoy Skagway - we loved it.

It seems like alot of folks are coming to the Lake Siskiyou Rally, then going north to the RLWhit campground and proceeding on to Alaska. I added a slogan to the Lake Siskiyou rally last night.... "Gateway to Alaska".

*LOL

I guess we are moving too slow. We are only up to Watson Lake. From here we are headed to Carcross and Skagway before going to Whitehorse so we won't be there until the end of the week.

Doug & Michael,
After Whitehorse are you heading to Tok or Dawson City first?

Doug, We have changed our plan and are going to skip Skagway this trip. When we leave here we are heading to Whitehorse for a few days then Dawson City. We should get there Monday. We will keep an eye out for you once we get there. Grant

We arrived in Tok a little while ago. Free camping behind Youngs Chevron station with a fill up!!!!! Good price!!!

Spent two nites in a provincial park, Congdon Creek, between Haines Junction and Beaver Creek- it was wonderful - dry camping on a huge lake and free firewood. Saw a grizly mother with two cubs - it was scary (we were only 75 feet away when mama and the cubs came out of the woods in front of us) but I got some great pictures.

Life is good - onto Wrangell-St. Elias Nat'l Park and Valdez next.

Jo-Anna, Wrangell-St. Elias Nat'l Park Visitor Center has no overnight parking, but there is a paved pullout right before the entrance that might be usable, or there is a big gravel pullout a few miles further down the road on the right hand side where we overnighted. There is $12 camping in Valdez at Allison Point, dry camping, but drinking water is available. It's next to the pipeline terminal right on the water with a beautiful view. Also dry camping with drinking water available at the Valdez Glacier Campground a little ways out of town.
