Where da juice?

Just found that the 120vac is out in the bedroom/basement/exterior outlets. Checked the bedroom breaker, not tripped. Checked GFI on vanity outlet, doesn't work. I cycled the breaker a few times and got nothing. We have had a huge amount of rain the last three days but the awning has been out and the exterior outlet has been dry. Any ideas? ..Dave and Betsy

Longshot - one of our prior Montanas had a second outlet with a gfci breaker on it but it was the same circuit as the one in the vanity. I seem to recall it was around the desk area. Any chance you have one of those?

Thanks for the reply Steve, but no GFI at desk and the power mysteriously came back on, frustrating. There is also a GFI in the basement on the same circuit. I have no idea what caused the outage or what caused it to come back on but this goes on the growing list of warranty items... Dave and Betsy

Dave, I know you said the outside oulet is under the awning so none of that rain got in. It sounds like water in an outlet and it finally dried out. You'll probably never know. Hopefully it will not be a recurring problem.

Now that things have dried up it still goes on and off occasionally. Still tracking down the gremlins but no luck so far. Pulled breaker box face and made sure that all the hot and neutral wires were tightly screwed in. They were. What bothers me is that if it was water then at the very least the GFI should have kicked and at the worst the breaker should have popped. Strange... Dave and Betsy

Loose lugs in the power distro box?

Good call, just changed to the site across the street and everything works. I am using a double 30 amp to 50 amp box and tore that down to check the lugs in that and they were tight but the pillar on the other site had a very wobbly second 30 amp plug, so maybe that was it.. Dave and Betsy

Dave, We had a similar problem last fall. Ended up being a loose connection on one hot leg in the cord that plugs into the trailer. Would work fine when we first plugged in to service but once a load was put on that leg it would go open. Once it cooled down would start working again. Easy fix loosen the screws on the plug cover, push the cord so the plug comes out and check all 4 of the lugs for tightness.. Jim C.
