White Elephant Exchange at Jackson Rally

The gift exchange will more than likely be Friday night, April 26, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. This is always a very fun time for everyone with lots of crazy "stealing" going on. The gift value should not exceed $25. It can vary from very practical to very outlandish. In the past there have been picnic type items (basket, tablecloth, etc.), bottles of wine, a white elephant, dancing flowers, yard "art," jewelry, flashlights, solar lights, etc.

Rules: one gift per rig. Each rig's owner will receive a number. Numbers are then drawn to determine who gets to select or steal. Drawing #1 doesn't necessarily mean you will be the first to select. However, the first person to go will have the opportunity to be the last person. When your number is drawn, you may either choose a gift from the table (no touching or feeling or you "own" it) or "steal" a gift from someone else. A gift may only be stolen three times; thus the fourth person "owns" it. If a person has their gift stolen, they then get to either select another from the table or "steal" from someone else. In addition, a gift may only be stolen once per round. We will go over these rules again the night of the white elephant gift exchange.

Be looking through your cupboards for that truly unique gift to exchange or just go out and purchase something you think someone would like. Rumor has it that the dancing flowers and Stanley will be there.

As Stanley's guardians, we will have to check out the security at the park. Our wagon master had volunteered to assist in the investigation of the kidnapping but apparently the case has gone cold. No leads have ever been developed.

We remain deeply concerned that the culprit will be among the attendees. Perhaps Stanley's friend, Sadie Rose will keep a better eye on him........

For those that did not attend the Western Rally last year. It was Stanley pictured in the above post who was kidnapped and a ransom note left. He finely showed up at one of our afternoon Tea Parties, his mouth was duct taped and his hands were tied behind his back. As Stanley's care taker stated, there was an investigation without any leads. Unfortunately, Stanley does not speak and was unable to tell us want happened. So just like our children, our elderly dolls need to have an eye kept on them.

Stanley's care takers may need to hire special security for him especially during the White Elephant Exchange. It gets a little crazy during that event.
