Marathon Tires for Sale

I switched out the Marathon tires on our Montana for the G614's so now I have the 5 Marathons For Sale. They have about 500 miles on them. Asking $200.00 for all 5.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
See if you can find someone who might need them for farm equipment or a utility trailer (I'm not kidding).

I put mine on Craigslist and sold them the first day and a friend of ours did the same and they sold right away. A guy who has a used tire business for utility trailers bought them.

Not intending to stir up any trouble here, really... but I thought guys who had been selling the original Marathons were getting about a $100 a piece for them?? Just curious because I am getting ready to sell my set too, and was going to post the question as to what they are worth and then put them on craigslist.

I looked up the new price and decided on $75 each which I thought was fair as we had less than 3000 miles on them. Our friends sold theirs for the same price.

You can get up to $100 each for them selling them for farm use. They know what they're getting and are happy to get them.

We are having a Yard/Man Sale this weekend and I was going to sell them there for $50.00 each just to get rid of them. We will be moving soon and trying to clear things out of here. Didn't realize how much stuff you collect over the years and now I am to the point that I just want it all gone!

Excellent point, we just went thru that and I know what you mean. Just to make sure they move, put them on Craigs list. I sold everything from my Gold Wing to all our house furniture we weren't giving away to the kids that way. Bunch of scammers out there, but real buyers too. Because, like you, I priced things to move the prize for the longest trip went to a guy from Tulsa who drove all the way to rural North East Kansas to buy our canoe although it could also have been the guy from Omaha who bought our grandfather clock I really didn't check the milage.

Thanks for the replies on pricing.

Dick - I've never sold anything on Craigslist. You mentioned the scammers - what are the main things to be aware of?

Thanks!

I have never used Craig's List either. Heard to many stories of people getting riped off. Rather deal face to face with the buyer.

Yes there are scammers out there. Craigslist is not any worse than putting an add in the newspaper or shoppers type guide. You just have to pay attention to what and who your dealing with. Common sense goes a long ways here. I have sold and bought off craigslist for yrs and never once got caught up in a scam. And its a good way to buy things reasonable and sell.
