Phil,
I have a 2009 3665RE. On the drivers side by the control panel for the slides there is a sticker that will tell you the carrying capacity for the trailer.

Hi

I haven’t contacted Lippert about leveling jacks since July 2009. I just accepted a consulting contract to help a company get back in compliance with some federal regulations. They are so far out of compliance I have worked the last week (6 days) 15 to 20 hrs a day to get 3 $40,000,000 units it compliance and still have 3 more units out of compliance and the feds have been bugging the general manager. It will be another week before I can think about contacting Lippert again.

I know the weight limitations for the trailer are posted on the outside and on the inside of one of the galley cabinet doors. Mine has a cargo weight of 2,782 lbs.

The question I have is can I put a 2,782 lb. Piece of cargo in this cargo compartment? So far Lippert has refused to answer this question. The last time I ask was February 2010. So in accordance with their response just to not exceed the GVWR I just weight the trailer at the start of a trip. So far so good. We pulled this trailer 20,000 miles last summer with the heaviest load I ever intend to carry with out any problems except the electric wiring that everyone seems to be having. This trailer sure changes shape when you hook it to the TV! By the way the heaviest weight I have ever had a scale read for just the trailer is 15,180 lbs. That’s 725 below the GVWR. Not all of the weight is in the cargo compartment but there is one item that comes close to 1,000 Lbs.

If the Jolly Green Giant loaded a thousand Lb. item in the cargo compartment ask him to
also level the Montana and your problems will be solved.

With the proper equipment my wife loads them by herself. Now you know why she gets what she wants! LOL

I have had leveling jacks on my RV's since 1994. Never a problem. The jacks are built to raise each jack a little at a time so as to prevent frame flex. Always use the auto mode and do not use the manual mode. Do not use the manual mode to lift one jack in order to change a tire....that may bend the frame. The jacks will need support under them in mud and when the spot is not level. Yes, sometimes the tires will be off the ground, but no big deal. When I talked to TrailAir, I understood that it is not if the frame is ok, it is if there is enough room to locate the pumps and equipment needed for the system.

Hello

I just talked to Lippert.

They did confirm that they did not have a leveling system for my trailer in 2009 and in 2009 they would have not recommended one be installed.

Their engineering department didn’t design one until early 2010. They also say this big trailer frame probably would require the six point system and they couldn’t recommend a leveling system with out seeing the trailer.

They also advise that there are a number of changes coming soon.

Phil,

Sounds like they are blowing smoke up... I have the same model you have, but 2010. I just put BigFoot on at Lakeland, FL location. Front jacks are where the front feet are, and rear jacks are just behind wheels. The frame is 10" Steel I-Beam, and if the jacks are problem so are the wheels.

The system is not cheap, but works very well, and is rock solid. I don't even put the rear stablizer down.
