OK Gang, you have all done a wonderful job filling my overworked brain with all the great data, info and general knowledge and opinions concerning 1 ton dually or not! After digesting it all I purchased a 2006 Dodge Dually 4X4 Cummins Turbo diesel Big Horn Edition. I love it! Now I'm ready to go pick up the 3400RL from dealer. Once it is loaded (water, wife, dog, fuel, etc) I am off to the scales! I also want to thank all of you who contributed to the JT Stabilizers forum as I purchased those also. I'm sure I'll be back asking for some more info on various topics as we are truly rookies! Thanks Again. Just Trampin'

Richfaa and Tlightning, Thank you both for the information about the Tire and Loading sticker. There is always something to learn on this forum and that is why I keep coming back. It is sure nice to see the attitude change on this forum. A year ago there would have been a bunch of "I have towed my Montana for 100000 miles with a 3/4 ton so that is all you need" threads and this year there are none.

Just Trampin, I think you made a great choice and it will be plenty of truck to keep the white knuckles away. You will be very happy every time you tow in the wind and inclement weather to have those WIDE hips out there.

Door stickers, was pointed out to me sometime in the past by a wise man Cat320 I'm sure you old timers remember him. His post were very informative and always to the point. As long as I've been around Trucks I had never really use that information. I will also say my Trucks have never weigh what that sticker said. But I have never owned a basic Truck. My best advice is the day you buy that big new Truck, go then and put it on a Cat Scale with a full tank of fuel. Your weights will change constantly, we just went to get grocery's yesterday and our weight of the 5er changed. I also Love my Chevy 3500HD DRW's 1 ton dually. I highly recomend a 1 ton for any 5th wheel over 34', but thats your choice. GBY....
