AC Quit Working
This weekend our a/c quit working. Had been running fine all week. Luckily we have the second unit, but couldn't keep things cool enough with 104 plus temperatures. The fan will run but the compressor never kicks on or even attempts to come on. I think it should still be under warranty as we purchased in November. Anyone had this problem or any ideas? We checked breakers, fuses, cleaned filters and nothing. The thermostat seems to be working. So, it's off to the dealer today...hopefully it won't be gone too long.

Good luck, guys, sounds like it (Could be) the thermostat. If the lights dim when the compressor tries to start....maybe it's that.
If you could remove the thermostat and jumper wires, you could eliminate that.
BUT, hopefully, the ole dealer will come through.
Luck to you.

Try turing the breaker off and t-stat for a minute and then back on. This will reset the time delay relay and this could keep the compressor from coming on. It could have locked out by trying to lower temp. just after compressor cycled off. Good luck cause it's HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHot.

Cheryl,
I have no words of wisdom for you on this one. It sounds like you have tried everything on my list. So I am wishing you a speedy repair.
Hope to see you at the fall rally!
Phil

Well the a/c is back up and running. Thanks for all the input. It turned out the problem wasn't the compressor (which is good) but rather the part that keeps the compressor from burning up in the event you have low power/voltage...can't remember the name of the part but it took like 15 minutes total to replace it. The service guy said it didn't look like the part had burned so it must have just been bad. We actually had a fire in the electric box at the campground, but after they fixed it, the air worked fine for a couple days. Who knows...anyway, we are good to go for now! Thanks!

Probably a start capacitor. Glad it's working now for you.

Our 3295RK had the same problem. It turned our that the wiring had shorted out in the box and burned the wires. No fire but it could have been. Have an AC guy take a look. Good Luck.
