Ladders

Does anyone have or have an opinion on the GPL compact folding extension ladder?

I have the 7' model. Don't use it all that much. I use other ladders when at home. It is handy when on the road if I need a ladder. It is easy to store if you make a tunnel type storage so you can get it out when you have things stored on top of it.
In general I like it when traveling. At home my choice are the electricians ladders with the three legs. (Red Top wood models)

I bought one off Ebay for $135 with 300 lbs. capacity. We carry it in the 5th wheel.

I have a aluminum folding ladder I keep in a plastic tube, I will see if I can find some pictures.
I am not sure about the one you mentioned. (Hope this isn't too big)

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
I have the same ladder and store it in a 6" tube like Ozz did. That ladder is rated for 300#.

I had a fold up ladder and didn't like it. The narrow steps are hard on the feet and there is no top area to place things on

I looked on the GPL web site and their ladders are only rated to 225 Lbs.. What brand do you folks have that are rated 300 lbs.?

Lee,
My GPL 7' has a sticker on the side of it stating the rating as being 225Lbs. I can tell you I think it will hold a lot more. I think that rating probably addresses the hinge points. It locks good and solid and is stable for a collapsible ladder. One would have to pay attention to soft ground or sand when setting up. That probably goes for any ladder of this design.
I bought mine in Yuma at the flea market.
