Road trip

Cabin fever is bad today. Gonna fight it with a trip north to check the property after the long winter. Of course that means a stop athttp://www.briansfruitandmeatmarket.com/ to pick up a couple of great steaks for the fire tonight and some thick cut bacon for breakfast tomorrow. Any Michigan MOC'ers here that haven't been there should stop in and check out this great local market that has survived both a local chain supermarket and a WalMart supercenter.

Nice trip today. The sun was shining and the traffic was light. The suckers were running in Omer. Holy cow you should have seen the bans of the river lined with people netting. Picked up a couple of smoked ones down the road. Man were they good. Haven't had them since I was a kid. Checked out our campsite in Glennie for the July 4th holiday-right on the AuSable River. Found 15-18 inches of snow on the ground at the property in West Branch. Best of all the T-bones were on sale at Brian's! A great wind-down from a hectic week.

Just before we left SW Florida this week I found a store that had Oberon. I picked up a six pack to take home with us. We miss our summers at Muskegon. Michigan is a great state with wonderful beaches!

Sounds like a great trip. Wish I had been ther for the fish. That's a childhood memory for me also.
