Queen verses King

We are looking at a new Montana and want a queen bed mostly because that what we have at home, but it should give a little more room around the bed. Everything I see is king and everyone talks about king.

Is there anyone that has a queen, is the extra room around the sides significant?

Ours came with a king which we took out and replaced with a queen. i had to cut down the platform which was an easy task. Gave lots more room to make the bed and move around on the closet side.

Ours also came with a King and we also cut ther base down for the Queen. With the open feeling of the space the queen added we would never go back.

A guess another question I cant find an answer to is if we order it with a queen does the shelving or fillers next to the head board change, if anyone ever ordered one.

Ours came with a queen but swapped it out for a king(from a mattress store). We figured the bed size was more to our liking then room around the bed.

DW wanted queen as it made making the bed easier, and leaves more room.

We got it with the king. Witch is a small king. We got a good home queen mattress that is way more our liking. That is a full queen not a small rv queen. The extra room is great to get around. Get the king and get a good home grade mattress.

Ours came with a king also. We cut the platform down and put our queen size sleep number mattress from the house in, more room around the bed plus a better mattress.

Greg,

We have a queen and are very happy with the ease of making the bed and the room around the bed. Plenty of room for the 3 of us. I believe the shelving around the bed is the same with a queen or king.

One of the selling features for us was the king bed. I would rather have the space in the bed than around it. I manage the bed making alone just fine. Our cat sleeps with us, and although she is not large, she can really stretch out and use up a lot of space!

We also cut the king platform to use our queen mattress. Mama says it's easier to make bed so if mama's happy.... Bonus! Makes her easier to catch when she's frisky! LOL!

Ordered ours with a queen (we have queen at home). Nice to have the extra room; think it would be tight with a king.

IMHO It all comes down to personal preference and to what is important to you as to which size mattress to get. For me it was the size of the people that are going to be sleeping in it. I am 6' 1" 240 lbs and my girlfriend is petite so for me a king bed was a must.
After sleeping on the cheap thin RV King mattress that it came with I replaced it with a custom size mattress from Mattress insider. I went the total opposite of everyone else. I went bigger than the RV king that it came with. I measured the bed platform and ordered the biggest mattress that would fit.
I ordered a 75" x 80" x 8" thick mattress. Yes it is tight around the bed and it take a little more effort to make it but that is nothing compared to the 7+ hrs of comfortable sleep and room we have in the bed. You don't have your partner sleeping right next to you. You don't even know there is some else in the bed. We can move/turn in bed during the night and not have to worry about kicking or bumping each other. Either one of us can get in and out of the bed during the night without wakeing up the other. For me being a big guy having the most room in bed and a great nights sleep was the most important .

Mine had a king and I cut the board down and got a queen mattress I wanted the room around the bed and thats what I have at home plus I had all the bedding for the queen and when I get another trailer I will get a queen. King has more room in the bed but not use to the king.

Another thing to consider is how well you like the person your with LOL

Wife had always wanted a King like we had at home. Of course that is what she got in our current unit. It was gone in less than a month due to the lack of space left around the bed. We purchased a standard size Queen and cut down the platform to fit. Now happy wife and happy life.

Queen here and always will be. Extra space around the bed is the most important to us.
We have slept in many kings at hotels but always come back to the queen being sufficient in our environment.
