Outlaw, guess I wasn't clear. What I mean by moving the hitch forward to center over the axle it returned the front axle back to the solo front axle weight, putting the several hundred pounds back on the front, or at a no loss or gain from the TV's solo weight.

Moving the hitch a couple inches back from center of axle will not change the weight on the front axle much. There is a reason that B&W put that adjustment in there.
So you can make adjustments. I have mine back one hole from as far forward as I could go. Still have one more hole back I could go.

Ours is full forward, lowest position. RV is still nose high. I set it this way based on advice from another with the same rig (truck/hitch). There is still much clearance between truck and RV.

What did you end up going with? I just got my inch yesterday and installed the base (waiting for the plate to come). I installed the arms in the second hole and over the axle. I'll make changes once I pick up our rig.

I am trying to sort mine out now also. New truck, 18 Chevy dually 4x4, trailer is 3625RE Big Sky. I bought a B&W that was in the rear and lowest position. I hooked up the camper today for the first time and it looked good, about 6 inches to top of retrax rail. Pulled up the road and made a sharp left turn and the pin box came too close to the bed for me. Came back and raised the hitch to highest position and of course the trailer is nose high. My pin box has one more hole to lower it but I'm thinking the trailer is going to be too close if I do. These dang trucks are just to high.

There are 3 hitch heights for the GM-specific Companion. If lowest was too low and highest is too high then it seems middle should work. That's where I have mine in preparation for our first tow coming this week.

Welcome to the world of the long pin box and tonneau cover rails. You might get the pin box high enough to clear the bed side in a tight turn but you likely will be way too high in the front.

What to do? Don't do tight turns is one answer. The other depends on what pin you have. If it is the Mor-Ryde, many have clipped the back edge of the frame the pin box is attached to on a 45 degree slant. I don't know if that will work for whatever pin box they install today.

Here are some posts from others with the problem.

The last resort is to buy another pin box where the distance from the pin to the back edge of the frame is less than the width of the bed (including the tonneau cover rails).

I was thinking of a new MorRide box at the Rally, now I think to leave well enough alone. The Lippert 1116 is short and one a little longer and with some cushion would have been nice.

So, I was thinking about this while on my recent trip. With the puck system on my Ford, I can easily reverse the hitch (turn it around from front to back). Therefore, I was able to run it in both the forward and reverse positions easily. I weighed it both ways.

Results:

Rearward: Steer Axle 5320, Drive Axle 8160, Trailer Axle 12500, Gross 25980
Forward: Steer Axle 5380, Drive Axle 8140, Trailer Axle 12489, Gross 26000

I think the difference in the total was within the margin of error or the scale.

I felt that it squatted just a bit more and I guess the 20 extra pounds on the drive axle combined with the 60 pound lighter steer axle was detectable, but only slightly. For me, I prefer the front position. But overall, try it both ways and see which you like. Easy to do with the puck systems.
