Rockies Here We Come

Headed out tomorrow for the summer +. Just call us SUNBIRDS, beating the Florida heat and humidity this year. Will be in the Durango, Co area after stops in the St Louis area to see family and the REDBIRDS. For all of you that missed it, they are the reigning baseball WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Mike, have an enjoyable and safe trip, and if those Honda's want to do the laundry, let them.

Have a great trip! Nothing better than crisp mountain air! If you guys swing by Omaha, stop in and see us! Omaha is on the way to Colorado from Florida via St Louis, well somewhat anyway! If you take the right Interstates!

We will not be too far behind you. Heading out 2 weeks from Friday for the South Fork, CO area, an annual trip for us. Typically temps running 102+ across Texas panhandle (last year up to 109 ), then the nice daytime temps in the 70's at about 8,500' in Colorado.
Getting close.

We will be passing thru Farmington on our way to Abq to visit friends on our way home. You have one of the best golf courses in the weatern states.

We are siting in Shenandoah Campground in Verona, VA beating the heat from Florida too. One problem the rain found us instead. Nice park and we are going to tour the skyline drive for the next few days. Have a safe trip. Claudia

Sitting in an Army Corps of Engineer's campground in Columbus Ms on the Tombigbee Waterway. Old folks with senior pass pay $8 a night. Well maintained park with hardstands and shade. Dewayne Hayes is the name.

We're doing the same thing. Left the Florida summer behind 2 weeks ago. It was cold, with snow when we went through Denver. Where did we end up? Southern Utah for two weeks, and now in Las Vegas for four nights. We have had over 100 degrees today, and will have tomorrow as well. When do we get away from the heat? Actually, when we leave here we head to Yosemite NP, San Fran, then up the Oregon coast and beyond. We are determined not to sweat this summer!! (Much)

We left Crystal River FL May 1 and are now in MI to beat the heat of FL. Well we did it. Yesterday morning it was in the 30's and raining. It has not stopped raining for the last 24 hrs. Not suppose to get much above 50 today. We found the cool weather.........lol

Mike, if you're coming down I-70 past Topeka and need a place to stop we're at the COE reservoir at Council Grove, KS. It's 30 miles south of the interstate at the Manhattan, KS/Council Grove exit. Should have spots (could reserve on also) most times except the weekend of the 17th that's the big local hometown celebration. Hope you have a great trip and make some wonderful memories.
