Don't miss if you are near Roswell, NM

You may just plan on stopping in Roswell to get a Alien T Shirt for the Grand Kids, but take the time to visit the Roswell Museum and Art Center. They obviously have a huge group of donors and the experience is worth your time. They have everything from regional artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth to works by Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and even a Rembrandt. Joyce wanted to see the art and that's what got us there. Once we started looking around, the Museum part had one of the most complete collections of indian artifacts and cowboy items I have ever seen (and we've been to a lot of museums out here). They have an outstanding Conquistador collection with many, many items from that period. Last, but not least they have a wonderful exhibit documenting the life and work of Robert H. Goddard, the father of modern rocketry. It's amazing to watch movies of his early experiments where rockets are carried to the launch site on 1920's trucks. Talk about ahead of his time! Anyway, we had a great time and will go back again when we are out this way. There was truly something for each of us. Here's their website: http://roswellmuseum.org/

I agree. I spent three month there working a few years back. You can make that a home base, and go in all four directions to see ...Carlsbad Caverns south, Billy the Kid to the north, Riudosa to the west and Cloudcroft...just a fun place...and @2.00 breakfast if i remember right...Also over the 4th of July, there is an Alien Festival...such fun!!
