Sebastian SP Florida

Looking for information on Sebastian SP. Planning on going around April. 1 site left.... numerous reviews about sand fleas. Is the campground right on the beach? How far is Melborne from the campground?

Hey there, Daniels!!
Sebastian Inlet SP is not a bad place. We've been a couple of times, in fact we had reservations over Memorial Day weekend that we had to cancel. The camp sites are not on the beach, but there is a trail from the campground to the beach south of the inlet. You need to drive over the bridge to the north side for the good swimming beach. The best sites for the Big Sky are actually the ones on the back row, away from the water. Big, open, less on top of neighbors. Melbourne is only about 20 minutes north, and the Space Center is about an hour. There is a treasure hunting museum just south of the park. A large Spanish gold ship was discovered just off shore a few years back. April should be good there, not too hot. Sand fleas are a crap shoot. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Grab the site and try your luck!

Hi...we are actually staying on the way down at Jetty Park and seems we would be closer to investagate Melborne from there. Looking for a nice campground to stay a few days on the way home so will rethink the Sebastian since Jetty seems closer. Thanks for your infro...

Let me know how Jetty works out. We saw it once from a fishing boat and it looked like something we might want to try.

For any of you guys following this thread we just returned from Sebastian Inlet and took plenty of video of it. We also took video of Melbourne Beach Mobile Home Park and Long Point Park. Its up on my website. Just click on Places We've Been.

Hope this helps anybody else with their travel plans.
