Fifth wheel bike and generator mount

I saw this here in the C.G., looks...interesting.
He was pulling with a Kenworth, so clearances would be ??? with our trucks, maybe.
A Three axle trailer.

Ozz looks factory made, was it? The Generator mount does look like they added it on. Did you check out the back bike, it doesn't get much use.(flat Tire)

I've been thinking about building something similar for my generator. Clearance isn't a problem on my long bed, but could be on a short bed.

I agree Lonnie I think anyone with a Longbed would be ok. Short bed would be a major question. The next question is if there is any "problem" with weight, frame, pin box would this add to the problem? I don't understand exactly where the broken welds are but I would not want to add to any problems creeping up.

I for one would not do it, look at the sag from the weight, also I would get a nose bleed from getting the bikes up and down. (Might be the reason for the flat, and unused bikes.)

Well, it looks as though it would cut down on your clearance for your turning ratio, and can't be too goo for areo dynamics.

I agree with Ozz, must be a real pain to load the bikes or service or fill up the generator. Also, noise and fumes could be a pain in the bedroom.

Ozz, ole buddy, how much do you think was added to the pin weight? My gen weighs 133lb and I don't think I have enough friends to help me raise it that high. Also, my bikes weigh a lot too!

I didn't even think about that! It must be hard to load.

Might just be for carrying, operation in another location. I think it's the small 2000 model, but with the bikes, bracket and gen.-too heavy for this ole cowboy

For the TV Ozz mentioned (pulled by a Kenworth) I doubt that he is anywhere near the pin weight max for the TV. However, for us that use 2500 / 3500's, would seriously put some of us over (know I'd be !!!!).

As for loading the bikes, etc., I'm thinking he probably goes up on the bed of the Kenworth and then just puts them there -- would be right about waist level then.

Maybe the bikes are a bug deflector for the front cap. Sure would take a lot of scrubbing to remove the bugs from the bikes. Maybe the Kenworth is big enough that bugs are not a problem.
