Extending bookdocking battery longevity

Starting first project to add some more Amps to the Montana while not plugged into an electrical outlet. Looks like the original battery and battery box will have to be removed replacing the battery setup with four, 6 volt, 250AH (220 AH nominal) batteries in their vented boxes plus adding the standard Perko battery switch. The switch allows me to slave all batteries together for maximum current, isolate a string of defective battery cells or to solar charge a string of cells while running off a different string.

I have two solar panels that need to be inserted into the circuit and need to decide on a voltage charge controller - what suggestions do y'all have? What about space for a future inverter and what provisions do I need to make so this modification is done but once?
