When installing the dryer with 220, is the new outlet installed on the back wall or are you replacing the outlet on the side wall? From the pictures, does not look like enough room on side.

Bobcat, I installed my 220 outlet above the W/D, (side wall) the builders should put both outlets above, this way any brand and voltage would be easily reachable. (I also moved the 110 outlet up.)
A nice by-product of the 220 is you gain a 20 amp breaker from the dryer for other use. Like a basement and outside 20 amp service. The 20 amp Breaker is already there.
It's no big deal to move them up, and no great job installing the 220. (On a 3400RL, don't know about the other trailers.)

Another question on installing the washer & dryer. Should the washer be anchored down? Big concern of Bob's.

We don't have our combo anchored and it hasn't gone anywhere in over 8,000 miles. And on some of the worst roads we have ever been on.
Happy trails........................

I have a question for thoses who have installed a washer/dryer in their rigs. We have a 3400RL and want to install a Splendide 2100. My question, is there enough room behind the unit to attach and run the vent? It looks very tight in all the pictures I have seen. Does the vent run up and over the top of the unit or is there enough room in the closet behind the washer/dryer? I plan on installing the unit myself and want to make sure there is room for the vent before we buy it. Thanks for the help.

We bought a flat expandable aluminum vent. I can't remember just how thick it is but it worked just fine. There isn't much wiggle room, though! Marilyn

We are using the same type of vent Marilyn uses. It has a hole at the bottom that attaches to the w/d then an expandable shaft that is about 1 1/2 thick and then a hole at the top for the vent hose that will go to the outside vent. We got ours online but some hardware stores have them in stock. I think Ozz used one also and in one of his pictures you can see it.
Happy trails......................

I may be tempted to go with the ventless washer/dryer combo to preclude cutting a hole in the outside wall. I still wonder about the efficiency of the ventless.....

Well, Ozz, a good Sears has them. We have a "want to be" Sears here and it doesn't have them. I was surprised that Home Depot or Lowes doesn't have them. A large Ace Hardware may as it was on their on line store.
Illapah, we talked to several people that had the ventless and they liked them. We went to the vented because CW didn't have a ventless in stock. However, since clothes need a few minutes out of the dryer to be completely dry I am glad we didn't get one. Ed does a lot of our laundry and he is not real patient and wants to fold and get it put away immediately. I know they work for a lot of people.
Happy trails.......................

illapah,
I love my ventless splendide. But the clothes do take longer to dry; and they come out humid. Like I said, I lay them flat on the bed and they dry without wrinkles within 10-20 minutes.

bsmeaton,
The ventless splendide unit can't be converted to a vented unit...we thought about the same thing but it isn't possible! FYI...

For those that have installed the Sears Stack unit on 110V, I looked at these at our large sears store, and the word is that it will wash or dry at one time, not both. There is an electronic selector that once the drier is started, does not allow the electric to the washer, and vice versa. Is this the same for your units, or is there a different model number that I am missing?
We have concluded that the splendide unit (vented) may fit us the best, and give us additional coat storage above on our 3295.

Devildog, you are right it will only do one at a time.
