Water filter systems

What type of water filter systems do most people use. We have a Nature Pure from General ecologies from Pa. and are very happy with it. I would drink water from any park supply from it and this time we are going to put one in the bathroom sink.
I researched this filter and found it the best of alland is used by US special forces and several airlines.

I agree with your assessment of the Nature Pure filter. We've had one in our Bigfoot camper, Golden Falcon 5th, and now in our new Montana. Too bad it can't get rid of the salt we all get when down south and which I don't think any of the other filters do either, but it get's rid of about everything else - especially those "nasties" that none of us want.

Where did you buy the Nature Pure? I looked online and find several hits but not their website.

I ordered mine with my TT when I bought it from Fraserway RV in Abbotsford, B.C. and it is also available at Camping world. I would strongly suggest One in the bathroom for brushing your teeth. and if you want a drink at night.

Been very happy with our NaturePure. The filters seem to last about twice as long as advertised.

We use a "whole house filter", purchased at Home Depot (maybe Lowes). Filters ALL water going into the rig. I have a "standard" charcoal inline filter between that one and the rig. Ends up with double filtered water throughout. We don't use any special filter on either the bathroom or kitchen faucets. Refills for the "whole house" filter are very inexpensive. The filter is inb a clear plastic container so you can see when the filter element gets discolored and needs changing.

I don't like to waste filtered water on the toilet, shower or dish water. this filter comes with its own faucet. It doesn't matter what part of North America you go each region has different things in the water that don't bother the locals as the are use to that water but it could bother people from somwhere else

Don: Just a point for your consideration..if you don't filter the water before it comes into the rig, you run the risk of allowing small amounts of sediment or other debris which will (not "can"..."will") clog the toilet water valve, plus not-so-good quality water and sediment materials in your fresh water tank which can cause problems in the onboard water pump.

Just a thought.....

You can always pickup a cheap inline filter to remove sediment and use a good filter for drinking water.

I use a pair of whole house filters I tied together. The first is a filter to trap the bigger particles and the second is the charcoal filter. I cut a couple of pieces of 4 inch PVC to hold them like stands and to keep them out of direct sunlight. Like patodonn said the refills are inexpensive and can be picked up just about anywhere.
