Brake problem solved
Well I finally found the problem with the brakes on the Monty.
The magnet wire leaves the magnet and wraps over the arm and the arm had rubbed the insulation off just enough to short out when the brakes were applied hard. It was curb side front wheel.

Glad you found the problem,this seems to be a common problem. I think the next time I have the drums off I'll put some insulation on those wires.

I pulled all four wheels and pulled the magnet wire loose from the clips and checked them all the way to where it entered the wheel. The wire had arubbed place and I could feel in when I wiped the dirt off.
Of course it was in the last wheel I checked.

Thanks for the reply, you should always start with the last wheel first. (Ha) I think that axle makers (Dexter) should be putting more insulation on the wire going to the magnet. This is a problem that is happening too many times. Happy Camping Larry & LaVonne

Now sense you found the trouble you should go back and cover the magnet wires with a wire wrap.

I've used this and it's held up even with the heat of the brakes. The clip can stay in place and just wrap the wire with this product. See-Ya

I assume you were having problem with the Ford trailer brake system? I am having the same problems with message that says there is a fault or that the trailer is disconnected.

I was having a problem with the electric brakes on the Monty.
When I applied the brakes I would get OL on the controller.

Probably a brake wire inside one of the brake drums rubbed through or pinched by the Actuator arm.
I had the same problem with our 2005 F350. I'd start with the curb side rear wheel. That was where Most people
were having problems, but not all.

Native Tex, the Ford controller is a "smart" controller feeding back to you what most controllers don't tell you...that there is a problem. So far, all but one of these reported here have been problems with the trailer brake wiring. The other one was a bad connection in the truck's wiring. Odds are the problem is with the trailer.
