Diesel here in AL is low, we are still paying below $3 - sometimes at Walmart about $2.88 gal. Not looking forward to going north as prices seem higher that direction. With the Alaska pipeline shutdown, its gonna be a long and expensive fall for all energy sources.

I heard on the news today that oil fell below $75.00 a barrel, so hopefully the price at the pump will be going down as well. My last diesel fillup last week was $2.79 a gallon here in Georgia. Hey, the diesel was even cheaper than the gasoline.

Diesel was $3.26 in Billings this morning. $3.35 in Dickinson, ND
After paying almost $5.00 a gallon in Canada we are smiling. But not too broadly. We have heard from some of our friends still in Alaska and there are a lot of places that do not have any gas. What a difference a week makes

In NWAR the diesel prices run between 3.15 and 3.35, generally the same as premium gas and up to 20 cents a gal. more than premium. Thank you BP, another station I'll no longer use!

Don't count on diesel prices coming down folks. I hate to break the news but in the July 31st issue of Transport Topics(Weekly Newspaper for Trucking and Freight Transportation) the following article appears. "Winter Kerosene Shortage Could Boost USLD Prices." Another excuse for Oil companies to raise prices being they have got to start preparing for Winter Heating Oil. I quote from article. "A shortage of ultra low sulfur kerosene is expected to drive up the price of fuel for truckers in the cold climates this winter, fuel refiners and fleet officials said."
Another quote from the article. "Trucking burns an estimated 700 million gallons of diesel a week, and at the current price levels translates into $421.4 million the nation's fleets spent on fuel vessus the same period last year." End of quote.
Guess what - I work for a trucking company and that cost was passed on to the shipper or receiver and more than likely you are paying for the higher price in oil when you buy consumer goods off the shelves. So you are not only paying more at the pump for fuel, you are paying more at the stores for fuel also. And for us diesel burners here is another quote from article.
"Supply problems with No.1 fuel would not only drive up the price of winterized diesel blends, but also may increase the price of fuel additives, as fuel sellers become more reliant on the additives to prepare diesel for cold temperatures."

Unleaded went from 2.989 to 2.899. At the same time, diesel went from 3.039 to 3.099. That's at the Walmart station. Everyone else is higher.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

I just paid $3.38 in Valdez Alaska. $1.34 a liter in the Yukon. You have to do the math for the liter to gallon.

Just passed through Idaho on our way to Califorinia, diesel fuel was 3.49-3.59 through out the state. We paid 3.49. Highest we encountered ( but didn't have to pay thank goodness) was 3.81 in Baker, CA just over the Nevada line. Ouch! That puts a big dent in the pocketbook. Here in Loma Linda, diesel is 3.11.

First they say its a shortage of crude that drives up the price . The next week we have plenty of crude, but no refineing capacity? If I remember back in the late 1980 an oil holding company by the name of Shamrock oil went out and bought up all the little refineries all over the country and closed them. After they bought them all out they went out of business. I can remember seeing a lot of different names on stations with independent refiners products. They always had prices cheaper than the big guys. Now we are being held hostage by the big guys.

Well ours just went down. From 2.99 to 2.97. Yeah I know it's only 2¢ but 2¢ is 2¢ and it will make the Labor Day increase a bit easier.

We paid $3.08 on Monday in Harrison MI just off of the interstate. That was for diesel, I think gas was $3.01.
