Hello all have just purchased a 3280 rl and towed it home with our Ford 250 The diesel has lots of pull however with a pin weight of about 1000 lbs over our last trailer shes gonna squat by the time i add the 4 6 volts and inverter system in the forward storage area also have a tool/aux tank in the bed of the truck My wife has to drive this truck daily to work so really didn't want to just add leafs to the springs Looking for suggestions on air assist or bags that can be loaded when towing thanking yous in advance gord & liz

We have the Air Lift air springs with airpump and gauges. We are very happy with the ability to precisely control the lift as well as completely deflate to the original ride. Inexpensive and lots of control.

I also had more squat than I wanted. With mine it was down on the truck overload springs and made the truck light in the front. I installed Firestone Ride-Rite air bags and it makes a world of difference how the Monty tows. The model that I have is #2330, this one specifically for a F-250 or F-350 4x4 or 4x2. I inflate to 25# before setting the trailer on the hitch and this will compress to about 45#. When not pulling the trailer I let them down to 5#. Some owners opted for the on board compressor and gauges but I did not feel the extra expense is justified. Hope this information helps you, I would not be without them.

I wanted to get airbags for my F-250 but I have a superslider hitch. This hitch mounts on the outside of the frame right where the air bags should go. So, I couldn't get them. I ended up going with Roadmaster's Active Suspension. It really improved the ride and the way my Ford carries the Montana.
Take a look at this websight. http://www.activesuspension.com/

I took another approach because of cost I decided to try these:
www.timbren.com
Eliminated the squat and they don't effect ride. I bolted mine on myself in less than an hour. A lot less than airbags.....

For all you Ford guys, Firestone makes a air bag now that installs directly under the frame rails,I know my buddy at work has them on his o5 250 4x4. I would also recommend the on board compressor, you will use more than you think.

I have the Air Ride air bags with the on-board air compressor. They have been great and the feature to deflate them and re inflate them when ever you need to is the best. My compressor did go out when it was only 2 1/2 years old, but Air Ride was gracious enough to discount a new one to me. Good luck on your choice.

I have the Firestone airbags on my F-250 and they eliminated the squat that I had.
