Isolator Air Ride Pin Box

Hi All,

I took the plunge and ordered the Isolator. It just came today and it looks very well built. I hope to get it installed this week but won't be able to try it out for a few weeks. I'll post a review after I get it installed. Any tips on installing it would be welcome as no instructions came with it.

Thanks
George

Buy a few 6 packs of your fav beverage and call your friends! Not a one person install. Good luck! Hope you like yours as much as we like ours!

They shipped me the wrong one. Correct one should be here Wed. Boy did they loss money on this sale. The only problem I see to the install is how to hold that heavy thing up in place while getting a couple of bolts started. I'll let you know what we did.

The method I used for my TrailAir was:

1) disassemble as far as possible to reduce weight.

2) fast talk younger nephew to assist.

3) lure said younger nephew with promises of aforementioned sixpack.

4) remove women/children/others with sensitive ears.

5) impact wrench was a big help.

Worked out pretty smoothly when all was said & done.

I installed the trailair on my 3295 by myself. T put the end gate of the pickup doen and put a floor jack in the bed. I used the floor jack to let the old hitch down and the push the new hitch into place. As Eric said, disassemble to reduce weight. I found getting the old one out to be the most difficult part of the job. Also ruined my torque wrench in the process. You want some sturdy wrenches around to break the old bolts loose.
Good Luck
Dave

I though about doing it that way, but the "younger nephew" was available and made things a little less "fiddly".

My impact wrench made this a non-issue. It fit nicely inside both old and new pin boxes.

Done. Installed. Hope it lasts a long time. Turned out to be a one man job. Used the Kabota with the front bucket and just lifted that new pin box right up in place. Took longer to reattach the junction box and brake release. Now I can have that six pack all to myself.

I am having mine installed by the factory during the Indiana Rally. They are less than a block away from the Montana factory service facility. There is no charge for the installation and they set it up for your trailer and pin weight. Total charge installed is $930. Thats less than a local dealer wanted for just the hitch in the box.
