Didn't want Mike to feel lonesome

I pulled my own stupid mistake yesterday. We came in only expecting to stay a couple days and move on then stayed for a week. When we decided to stay I attached the sewer hose and opened the grey tank but since the slide was out I forgot the knife valve I've installed before my clear 90 on the end. Yup went most of the week and then did some more laundry before we went to leave (extra rinse too just for good measure). Our laundry drain dumps into the grey tank and that thing they put in place of a P trap will keep water from backing up into the shower the way they used to so if Rondo buys a newer rig he's going to have to figure out a new way to tell when the gray tank is full. Luckily we got home just as the "falls" began to be heard in the front cap. Now everything is out and the fans are in action. Also, if someone else "tries this at home" you will need a plunger to clear the shower drain. That P trap substitute turned it's self inside out so I had to use the plunger to pressure it back in shape. After doing what I had done already I at least realized that taking that thing off to fix it when the shower was 3" deep in water wasn't a good idea. It would be nice if I could learn some lessons the easy way once in a while.

I feel your pain. If one of the nature to track the # of comb things we do, I'm sure I'd be in the top 10! Good luck on the dry out.

Long ago and far away I was trying to unhitch quickly and forgot to unplug and drove away, that's when I found out about the color coding of each of the 7 wires, "lesson learned", and now know the yellow wire in the middle is for backup lights. I often don't learn from my mistakes. I have thought about using John Kohl's clothe pen check list, but I would still need to remember to check the list.

Just did the same thing Dick. Forgot to pull the handle on the knife valve and although our W/D drains direct it could not get past the knife valve. water all over the kitchen floor.

We had the same type of flood last week. I was messing around in the basement and closed the grey valve to the bathroom tank. Our washer drains into this tank. Wife did several loads of laundry and then we heard water over flowing out of the drain into the hallway and bedroom. Took several days of using the wet/dry vac and wife's hair dryer to get the carpet dry again.

The new 3850 washer drains into the galley tank. This will be a totally new experience for us since the 3400 and the 3750 both had direct drains. I have a hunch that the galley tank drain will remain open at all times when we are set up. With both the washer and the dealer installed dishwasher draining into the galley tank, I have a hunch this is the safest approach.

Remember to hook it to sewer before starting washer. Makes a mess otherwise.

Hi

At least you had enough information to handle that problem different than I did. When my drain turned wrong side out I looked in the shower and looking thru about 2 inches of water the end of the rubber bladder looked like a piece of paper towel. So I got a pair of needle nose pliers and removed the “paper towel”.

When I regained my eye site I realized the piece I had in the pliers wasn’t paper.

The mistakes we make that are not harmful or real expensive are actually funny. LOL

Dick, you're not alone, just heard of a Montana while we were camped at Pickensville COE Park in Pickensville, AL this weekend that left their Rv with washer on and drain closed, and came back to water coming out around the Rv. Luckily, some other campers saw it and turned the water off for them. It happens to the best, but that won't happen to me because we don't have a washer. Have accomplished that with a potty though. Another story.

Better check the heater floor ducts for water at the low points of the ducts. I found out the hard way. Whoops !!!

Back in our early days of camping, maybe even the first trip we were out; I remember taking a shower and draining the grey water right out on the ground in the open. No one even complained but when I saw all the suds on the ground I started thinking about it. The campers didn’t have grey tanks on them back then. Once I realized that was a no-no, I started toting around a 5-gal bucket to catch the grey water in which became old very quickly. And to think now, our biggest worries are whether or not the drain from the washer goes into the galley tank or if it’s directly routed to the exit line.
We’ve come a long way baby!

I think the dumbest thing that I do repeatedly is walk into the corner of the bedroom slide. I always look around to see if anyone is laughing. LOL!

That's why I have noodle pieces on my corners. If they don't see me walk into it there is no evidence.
