Good Sam ESP FAIL!!

Well last week I found that my left rear spring hanger was broken off. I called Good Sam Extended Service Plan and they said no problem and they gave me a list of mobile service businesses. Since we live way up in the woods it took awhile to get somebody up to give an estimate. The mobile service guy was here today and took a look and said no problem he would submit it to Good Sam. I just got a call from the mobile service shop and they said Good Sam refused to cover anything. I called Good Sam and ask what was the reason for refusal. They said they won't cover anything welded to the frame because it is considered frame. They will cover the suspension but not what ever holds it to the vehicle. I am kind of at a loss as to what to do now. I asked for a refusal letter so I could submit it to Trailer Life but that seems to be about it. I will give Keystone and Lippert a call Tuesday because of course it is after 4 on a holiday weekend Friday. This stuff gets old very fast...

Dave you can also send in a letter of special reconsideration or appeal to Good Sam ESP and they will review your claim and let you know Yea or Nay! Give it a try!

What is and isn't covered can surprise one at times. I can't imagine it being a very big bill ... if you need to get somewhere, go ahead and have it done. Battle out getting reimbursed when the time is better for you. If you don't have any pending needs to move ... forget my reply.

Actually we are 110 miles driving time for the mobile repair service so that alone is expensive. We are dickering on the price or at least will on Tuesday when he comes back to actually do the job. We will try to come to some fair deal as I will need additional welding service before the Rally (read reinforced spring hangers and gussets ) and I can drag the beast down to his shop for that evolution..

Dave,
We had the same problem with our 2001 Montana. Coach net agreed to pay for the service call ($125) but not for welding the hanger. They said that was work just like replacing a hose etc. I thought that was fair since they paid the largest amt.
We were parked in a campground and could not move it the repair service told them,so they said no problem.

I've had great experiences with Coach-Net, but Extended Service providers are like Health Insurance Providers. They apparently employ folks who's bonus depends on how many claims they can turn down.

Interesting Dave because that actually IS part of the frame but I would never have considered that. Maybe the service guy worded the repair wrong.
