Has anyone had to replace the window on the front door? Did you have it done or do it yourself?

We did ours not because we had to but because we wanted to. It was very easy. We had a custom one made.

Is there a website which has these replacement stain glass windows for sale? I noticed one at the dealer the other day and thought it looked great.

After watching Doug Henry change one at Lake Siskiyou, we decided it was easy enough to try ourself. This January three of us ventured into Los Algodones, Mexico (just South of Yuma) specifically to purchase stained glass windows. There are a number of shops selling them there with a large selection at reasonable prices.

Of course we had to install them immediately once we got back to the campground as no one could wait until returning home. It only takes a few minutes of actual work over three to four hours (the time it takes for the silicone to set up). Plenty of time to down a few cold beverages and solve the problems of the world.

If you need directions let us know. I have a few pictures that were taken during the process. It isn't difficult, but there are a couple of tricks which make it easier.

Hopefully someone will come up with a web location for the windows. I don't know of any but it wouldn't suprise me that there is one.

So mine cost a bit more than the ones Rick found but I got to design it myself rather than choosing their design. With shipping it was $267. The woman that did mine was featured in Trailer Life the summer of 2005. Her name is Christine MacDougal. email is Crittymcd@aol.com. She was a joy to work with. DCP, as Carl has posted the window is very easy to replace yourself. I have put in 4 of them so far 3 for other members and my own and it really is simple. We also got ours in Mexico where Carl got his, paid around $50.00 for it and it is very solid. We just got back from a 2500 mile trip and the window had no problems.

After seeing you put in Dennis and MaryKays window at Quartzsite, we just "HAD" to take a trip down to Algodones. We met up with Robbie and Alice went shopping around and then got ourselves a window too! Although ours cost us $60.00. Mel had to fly back to WA. before he installed it, but, it will be installed before we show up at the Buellton Rally! Tell Sharon I never did go back to the "big tent" and get that shirt, but... I have been looking online to have one made, so she & Renee need to be sure and wear them to the Rally. Hopefully I'll have one by then also.

Susan, could you post your pics? I know we watched Doug install the window, but pics would also be helpful. thanks

I don't think Christine has a website. The window is very sturdy. Her family has a TT and they have had one in theirs for many years. She told us it even held up with grandkids slaming the door.
I emailed Christine and she visited us at the Minden rally because she lives in Reno.
