Amish country and Gettysburg Campgrounds
Any suggestions for good campgrounds in the Amish and Gettysburg area and the Leesburg, Va. area during the last 3 weeks of August and the first week of September, dog friendly of course, 38' length and 3500 srw crew cab. Traveling from NH to Amish country to Gettysburg to Leesburg, Va., planning to stay about a week in each area.
Thanks
ejh

Last year we stayed at the Gettysburg Campground when we attended the MOC rally. I think most everyone there enjoyed that campground.

We stayed at Roamers Retreat CG in Kinzer, PA, and found it a convenient day trip point. Roamers is a PA CG for 3 night, Sun-Thur at $19.00 a night.
Just be careful of neighbors. We came back one day to find H. John parked next to us. He lives just down the road apiece and will pull his trailer up next to yours just to harass you!!
Actually, he might be along any second now and since he lives in that area may give you some more ideas.
Good luck.

In Gettysburg is a Passport America park called Artillery Ridge C.G. We have stayed there a few times and saved the cost for P.A. in less than one weeks stay there. They also have a battle field diarama at the cg that is very interesting and free if you camp there.

We just left PA Amish Country today -- we stayed 3 nights at Country Haven Campground in New Holland, PA
The park is 5 years old and is very nice
Recommend it Highly

We also stayed at Artillery Ridge and really enjoyed it, only a mile from the Battlefield Center. One word of caution though, don't put down your woven patio rug, the sites are broken granite and will chew the carpet to junk in a week. Other than that we will go back again... Dave and Betsy

We also stayed at Artillery Ridge, using our Passport America. Nice people and nice CG. We would (and have) recommended it to others

we stayed at Artillery Ridge also ,used Passport America. I liked the diarama better at the campground than the one at the national park center.

We've stayed twice at Artillery Ridge and once at Round Top in Gettysburg. We liked both but really liked the Passport America price at Artillery Ridge. Tommy's Pizza has excellent pizza, by the way, in Gettysburg.
