Sold the House! We are finally on our way!!!

I can hardly believe it! Our house was on the market for only 6 days! Should close April 21st. We thought we were going to have to leave it in the hands of our Realtor, and hope it would sell, but we lucked out, the Realtor is very good at marketing and had it sold before we left, all we need to do now is sign the final paperwork when it closes next month.

We started our first journey south as "true" full timers today. We left Marysville, WA this morning and plan to be in Yuma on Saturday. We have a short stop in OR to have a second A/C installed at camping world. (we plan on being in the sun as much as possible). Hope to see you all down the road!!! Hugs

How exciting! Congrats on the sale of your house. Now you'll really be FREE!

Coincidently, our son is buying a house on April 21st. Must be a good day for business.

That is just super. You must be breathing easier now that all the strings are cut. You've made it to the road gypsy class. Have lots of fun and keep us up on your adventures. Happy Fulltiming.....

Congrats on the sale of the house and your new fulltiming adventure. I talked with my realtor today and we're listing our house on this Friday. Maybe we'll be joining you soon. We're not sure whether we should buy another house and parttime or take to the road for a few years. Initially we'll move to the RV and then make the next decision at our leisure.

Congrats, Mel and Joy!!! Now that the hard part (the downsizing) is done, it's time to enjoy your new-found freedom and start living all the plans you've made. We celebrated our 3rd anniversary as full-timers this week and we've had a wonderful time.

Hopefully, we'll cross paths now and again ...

Way to go Mel and Joy!
I can't imagine the feeling (although I try) of fulfilling such a positive large step.
Sounds like you're on a roll, and on the roll too!
Best of wishes and best of luck to you.
Keep us posted so we, who aren't on the road yet, can vicariously enjoy the travels.

I agree with all of the above, best of luck and get out there and have fun. You need to make it through the first few months of learning and togetherness, so don't let those little bumps in the road get to you. We love it!

Thank everyone! It's nice to hear from so many. Well, as Vicki said the downsizing is "almost" complete. What an experience, it took us almost two months to clear out the house after 20+ years, we still have a rented 10 X 10 storage room left. Half of which is going to go in either a yard sale (borrowed yard as we no longer have one), or it is going to be donated, the rest..... we'll see next summer when we go back up to Washington to see what we really could not do without.

We have just arrived in Yuma this morning. And boy is it nice having a bit of sunshine on the face!!! Welcome back Shorts and t-shirts!

The only thing left now is for Mel to retire from work too! Oh well, at least I have him with me two weeks of the month. We can have 2 week adventures all year round if we want to! this truly is THE LIFE!!
