Traveling across Missouri?
From Springfield MO
would you recommend staying on I44 to St Louis then north on I61 to get to Quincy Illinois
OR
from Springfield take I44 to Lebanon MO then Rt5 north to 54 around Jefferson City to Mexico MO then 19 to I61. ?To AVOID St Louis.?
Heading to Canton, Missouri - Mississippi River Park for a week.
Before the National Dutch Oven Gathering in Monticello, Iowa then on to the Fall Rally in Goshen.

We go thru St Louis a lot without much trouble. You just don't want to be there during rush hour.

The route through Jeff City, Mexico, etc is a scenic drive but slow. If you have time and are not rushed take that. But, if you want to make time following LC's route will allow you to avoid most of the St. Louis metro. As Dick says it is only bad at rush hour. Jim

Agree with the above, Joe. Our daughter lives just north of there and works in Quincy. So, when we lived in Texas, we always went up through Mexico to visit them. We are actually going across I80 and dropping down to Hamilton, Illinois to visit them on the way through to Goshen. If you are going up that way, we'll be at the little campground in Hamilton on 9/19. The campground in Hamilton is $15/night with electricity (and sometimes firewood). The area has some interesting attractions.

I came through there about a month ago and alot of construction around I-44 - I-55 around the arch. Really a mess and alot of big pot holes in the Illinois area. Don't know if it is still that way or not.Would say it is as they usually don't get it done that quick.

You'll love the level-up and that factory does a really nice install.
