I just recently had my DVD player replaced by the dealer and when I played my first DVD I had the exact same problem. I found that they had connected one of the RED cables going from the DVD player to the TV incorrectly. I would suggest that you look at each cable on the DVD player and trace it to the TV and make sure that the jack on the DVD player is labeled the same on the TV. You may find that the DVD jack will be labeled something like Pb/Cr and the correct jack on the TV may be labeled Cr/Pb. That will be OK. Once I plugged my cable in correctly my problem went away completely. Good luck in finding your problem.
