I just went to Harbor Freight and bought a small motion sensor wall mounted, battery operated light. I mounted it on the wall as you come in through the entry door. It turns on automatically during the evening when it is dark, when you open the door and stays on for about 5 minutes then turns off. It can be turned on to burn full time or turned off completely if you wish. That 5 minutes gives us plenty of time to turn on any other lights we want on. The light has been pictured here in previous threads also and it only cost $9.95 (plus two AA batteries)or so and if you're lucky, you can pick it up for about $6 or less! For the steps I use two of those solar lawn/sidewalk lights. They fit perfectly along the frame of the steps and turn on autmatically when dusk comes to the area! I think they cost me a whole $1.50 each! Both lighting setups work for us!
