Workcamping in Canada?

We are planning to be in Canada during the summer months and will be interested in work camping, NOT for wages but rather for free campground space with hookups.
Does anyone know for sure if we can do this without some kind of work permit or something?
Thanks for any information or for a source with whom we can verify what we need to do.

Here is a link to a site that might be useful.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who.asp

I currently work in Canada as a US citizen but under NAFTA with a work permit. Even if you are not getting paid I would think that your site would still be concerned a form of wages. Canada and the US are pretty strick about that sort of thing. Everyone loves to be able to collect their taxes.

Larry,

I had a friend that did exactly that sort of thing but it's been quite a few years ago. I do not remember him saying anything about it being a difficult process. Of course many things have changed over the years. Good luck and enjoy.

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tp/it490/it490-e.html With respect to the taxation of exchanged services and goods.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/ap...le.asp#outside With respect to temporary work in Canada.
The most common seasonal workers in most CG's around here are students.

I don't know anything about the rules and regulations, but you could try contacting KOA. They may have some information and even jobs.
